Stafford Top Of The World Or Morecambe Pier Compilations?
I don't like to blow me own trumpet but they have been compiled or are in the process of being compiled, Stafford anyway. Check out the link in my signature for 34 podcasts telling the Stafford Story. The definitive collection IMO of the sounds that made Stafford. Plenty more to come. Morecombe, I can't think of anything from Morcombe that wasn't already played elsewhere first. I could be wrong but nothing springs to mind.

Dj's I Would Love To See Back Behind The Decks
I've always cared about who I listen to Len, trouble is I don't care for many of today's DJ's. Like I said I don't really care who they are, seasoned collector or first time behind the decks as long as they use some balls and imagination. It's easy to do a millionaires trophy set if you have the money and they tend to be boring as well with little thought or imagination. I'd much sooner hear someone put together a set for the price of one of those trophy records. But too many promoters are spineless and passion and imagination is frowned upon from all quarters, one reason I am finding myself at home more and more at weekends.

Salsaswings Record Seller - Paris / France
Sorry to hear this. I no longer buy from the continent unless someone I know and trust can vouch for them. No matter how good their intentions appear via emial always get your claim in before time runs out. I certainly wouldn't trust them unless I actually knew them. Hope you get sorted.

The Lovelites
Who has interfered with a sale? The record was sold before any comments were made.

The Lovelites
The problem is if a record has a certain value, most do as well, and someone pays over the odds then other dealers take that as the now rather than offer what is considered to be a fair and honest price. It seems to me that these days certain collectors are willing to pay whatever it takes and many sellers are just getting greedier. The market is getting more and more distorted every week.

The Lovelites
I wouldn't say it is a ten quid record, might have been once upon a time but I wouldn't say it was a £120 record either. It's ok Nev posting one odd sale from popsike but the rest seem to be between 40 and 80 dollars with one at $130ish.

Millage Records
Think all I've seen are reversed. When Goldmine put the slower side on a CD they used the Call On me title If you slow the Presentations down to -2 it is practically the same, just a bit of backing and horns the difference if memory serves me correctly. The Millage one though would be in my top 50, great record.

Prices For 100 Club Anniversary Singles
There's a starting price it would seem of £40 for those with the least demand working their way up to £80, £100 and in the odd case more for the more in-demand ones. Larry Banks £40 to £60. San Franscisco TKO's £80 to £100.

Rarest Of The Rare Nighters - Manchester Ritz
I haven't on this topic and I wouldn't either, why bring them up? There are many great cheap records but I wouldn't go to a nighter billed as the rarest of the rare and expect to hear them. Like I said I enjoyed the night but felt they missed a great chance. Yes I know there was some DJ's there with some great collections but they wasn't allowed to express themselves fully IMO. I've said all I wanted to say, not gonna keep repeating myself and no wish to argue, like I said I would love to see Richard do this again with the best of the whole scene.
-
Rarest Of The Rare Nighters - Manchester Ritz
What you on about? No one mentioned 20 quid records, I said it turned into a rare oldies only nighter, Larry Clinton, Al Williams, Frankie Beverley etc etc. Some rare rare records were not allowed simply because the mainstream scene didn't know them, that is fact, even thought they were big records on the nighter scene at the time. That is why I said I would like to see it happen again but this time include the best of the upfront side of the nighter scene involved. Stafford wasn't just about cheapies, quite the opposite. As I said I enjoyed the nighters, great venue but I felt they missed a great chance to really showcase the rarest of the rare from all eras.

Rarest Of The Rare Nighters - Manchester Ritz
I'd love to see this happen again though with the very best DJ's on offer, Butch, Andy Dyson, Searling etc etc playing nothing but the best from not just the oldies scene but the upfront side of the scene as well.
