  1. Thought Mick got his from Phil? Sam got his from Andy D.
  2. On an Associated Acetate. Was a third but that was broken into little pieces.

Yellow copy is the same. R-5619 881201-A R-5620 881201-B I would imagine they were pressed very close to each other. One being a second run after the first sold or they ran out of one colour label.

I agree Dave it matters little. Highland used whatever was available at the time, the owner wasn't one for spending money to do anything a certain way. Arthur Wright told me a lot depended on where Sid Talmedge's credit was good and who he owed money too. Anyone got deadwax details of the orange copy?

What you say aout Dave is correct about finding the orange copy(s) but according to Luckey Davis the yellow was first.
  6. didnt see the scan, don't read everything anymore, but knew Ted had won it through the sellers feedback.
  7. For anyone interested in Pete's magazines, John Kingan sent me a tape recording Pete made of him interviewing Dave Godin. The first hour and a bit is what appeared in the first issue. The rest I guess was to be the "to be continued" in a further issue. If you want to listen it is on my mixcloud page: The Gospel According To Dave Godin
  8. Doesnt mean Jim T sang lead though, maybe just one of the group? Obvious answer would be Edwin Johnson who sang lead on the Candi flip? Or is that too obvious, anyone compared?
  9. On Op-Art Someone got a bargain considering what the others have sold for.... https://www.ebay.com/itm/CANADA-MEGA-RARE-R-B-SOUL-CANADIAN-45-RPM-TIARAS-FOOLISH-GIRL-SURPRISE-/330887082805?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_210
  10. Anyone got any more Stafford photos I can use?
  11. You've obviously not read the topic then...
  12. I have it on a tape nof Cliff's which I'm sure is late 80's??? I'd have to check to be sure. Cliff might put the story straight if he reads this.
  13. Date on this recording is unknown but it is around 1990/91. Colin Law followed by Banks and Bicknell. Not sure who the first brief DJ is though. https://www.mixcloud.com/Chalkster/great-yarmouth-northern-soul-weekender-radio-early-90s/
  14. At least 5 I can think of over here, Sam bought the last one I know sold from Andy Dyson who got a spare. Cliff Steele the first I know of or remember playing this.
  15. The discovery of Larry Clinton is in Neil Rushton's Soul Stories book. Discovered by John Manship in Orlando Florida on the return from his second buying trip in 1976. Sold to Sam who soon sold it to Richard. John removed the J/G distribution logo from the label because as Jamie Guyden was re-issuing all the Arctic stuff at the time sam wouldn't have bought it if he thought it was a Jamie Guyden reissue.
  16. Was Larry before the unissued Eddie Holman? If so Searling was playing Eddie in 1977 according to his 40 at 40 article, discovered by Anderson. Pete Mason's is now with Kev.
  17. Is there just half a dozen or so known copies over here? Last one I know of was £4k, not Brownies btw.
  18. there's a topic on the go about John Harris.
  19. I agree it doesn't make sense, like I said I'm just retelling what Eddie says and if he replies and gives a reason I will pass it on.
  20. If this is taken from a Palmer release then the fault lies in both releases.... It actually sounds more profound on this one than the one I listened to yesterday.
  21. But if it is a fault in the mastering, unless Palmer re-mastered then the fault will be in both releases would it not?
  22. I've e-mailed Eddie to see if he can remember why there was only three. I'm only retelling what Eddie said to Kev when Kev showed him his red issue. It is quite possible they simply did a sample press if preparation? I've no reason to doubt Eddie either he seems to have a pretty good memory from his early days. I would have thought if a full run of issues had been done the odd one or two more would have turned up as it was obviously very sought after and everyone here and in the US knows its rarity and value.
  23. I understood RS had a red issue?
