  1. Not by any means LP only sets but some Lps I've recently played in sets include... Richard Popcorn Wylie - ABC Bobby Womack - Tryin to get over you Luther Righteous Brothers Van McCoy (Dancin) Windjammer Lifestyle And some I forget..... I'm now looking to get the LP rather than the 45 simply for the extra tracks you get and often because it's cheaper leaving more money to spend on more vinyl :-) don't think it will be too long before 45 buying stops altogether and just concentrate on LPs.
  2. You are probably right Steve, Just speculation on my part also going on the dates mentioned and when he sold his interests in Sue/Symbol?
  3. And if album only you have to get a carver cut Ridiculous some of the things said and done!
  4. Who said anything about Djing with it? As far as I'm concerned he wants it for personal use at home? I dont recall the topic starter saying they wanted it for Djing?
  5. It is just time consuming more than anything. Recording the tape to your PC is the most time consuming but essy to do. Converting to mp3 and uploading is the easy bit. Offer is still there, im all set up permanently at home and I'll even upload to mixcloud or something. Others you have to pay for or you just get limited downloads and then have to upgrade or wait till the next months bandwidth kicks in.
  6. Phil, have you the tackle to transfer the tapes? If not I'll put them to cd for you.
  7. I think Dave Thorley was one who had one for sale at I think £500 and I'm sure the other I saw was same price.
  8. Think there's been two for sale recently, think both were on here. One was £500 if I remember rightly.
  9. Soundcloud you can download, not sure if you can with mixcloud, I can't see any arrow or info.
  10. With mixcloud being free I don't think you get the option to download, just stream.
  11. Excellent mix, enjoyed it immensely. Look forward to the next one.
  12. Can we leave the personal stuff off the topic pleae, take it to PM's if you wish to carry it on.
  13. Basically Russell number 1 and number 3 are the same aren't they? Both cut as the the result of a session and to decide which take to go with. If not happy with the sound or result upon listening back then another take done? Either way acetate is stored for reference in the vaults along with a copy or two of he eventual release.

I'll seek that mix out for a listen. Sound here pal, likewise I hope....long time no see.
  15. So different to what I'm talking about? I've never collected UK material.
  16. Are they actually acetates Pete, lacquer over metal middle and would they have done 100's of these for each?? I'm talking about the obscure acetates cut in the studio during the session and then filed by the company. Usually just the one or two for each take as far as I was aware.
  17. Dunno, they might think it is illegal to sell a record with "not for sale" on it? The scan I posted went really cheap as well so if an original someone got a bargain.
  18. £5.99 for a new discovery Anyway in answer to your question, no.
  19. Many acetates are different takes. Are you saying 100's of acetates of one track? I doubt that, not a studio acetate anyway, usually just two or three, depending on how many takes they did to cut the record. As for wearing out, I know of acetates that have been played for over 20 years and still haven't worn out.
  20. Butch has already been mentioned so wan't referring to him. Carl Fortnum has one too unless he sold it.
  21. Not sure about the third other ebay one you are talking about but know of at least two other DJ's with a copy.
  22. thought I'd seen a vinyl boot with the lines as well....maybe not then.
  23. either same as or like this one....
  24. isn't there a boot of the white one with lines, vinyl.
  25. I once sold the Washpan look-a-like for about £50, might have been a bit more. The buyer said he would have gone to £200. Buy the Grapevine copy, cheap and legit.
