Is Playing A Boot At A Venue Ever Acceptable
It might have happened at 100 Club as well then cause that's where I though it had happened. I do remember the Winsford one now explained but sure I wasn't there that night.

Great Vintage Video
Saw her at Yarmouth in '89. Her voice wasn't up to much and many pretty disappointed from what I remember, don't think many of us realised this was probably due to the cancer.

Singer And Song Title?
Gotta agree with you, can't understand why people have to give their opinion of a records quality when all that is asked is the title and singer. I'm sure some of their tastes leave a little to be desired at times. If talking about the record in general then can't see nothing wrong in giving your opinion.

Poll: Your Night Out
Poll result interesting so far, less than 10% happy to go out and don't mind paying to hear boots. The rest would prefer to hear originals. But just under 22% don't care what the format is they are listening/dancing to with over three quarters actually caring. Just 1 person wants to hear the same old same every week with the largest majority in favour of lesser known etc along side quality classics. Wonder if any promoters will take notice of this?

Poll: Your Night Out
It's happened countless times Carms. I remember once at Desborough some "DJ" playing a grapevine re-issue when the next DJ on had just spent a few thousand on a really rare record. Words were exchanged I can tell you.

Yep sure does Dave, respect, used to be used a lot on this scene but not too much about these days from some.

Is Playing A Boot At A Venue Ever Acceptable
Lifeline always used new carts/stlyi at every all-nighter. We now hire the equipment and they know what we expect of the equipment. Only one DJ used his own cartridges and his acetates and expensive records then started to jump and stick. Had to make him put ours back in.

Explosive Dynamiks - Whole Lotta Loving
Any background info to this release? Anything about the band, have you been in touch with band or label owner, any label info? How did the re-issue come about? Been of interest to the rare soul scene for along time so anything you can share would be great

You are not thinking of Distant Lover on Tamla are you? Never seen a Tamla copy of Lonely Lover. Maybe someone knocked one up themselves?

Are C.d's On The Way Out ?
I've mentioned it before to Ady to stick all the booklets in one book, would make a fantastic read...I for one would buy one.

Romona Collins Youve Been Cheating Clarks
Think I put one on a list for Andy awhile back for £1100, I'll have to check to be sure. Wouldn't have thought that much in it price wise, both very rare.

Are C.d's On The Way Out ?
You simply need a data transfer cable, get one from PC world. There is a program in latest windows if I remember rightly to move your old files over to new PC, if not plenty available on the net. If not sure about moving iTunes, got to Apple Support pages on Apple site and search "moving iTunes on Windows" etc, really is a good support site. As for iPhone, whilst in typing mode, hold your finger on text box till magnifying glass appears then scroll down by moving finger down screen. Personally I use all the formats available to me to get my soul fix, vinyl, downloads and CD's. Not a problem for me to convert or do whatever to listen. As I said because I travel a lot my iPod is probably something I couldn't do without these days.

Are C.d's On The Way Out ?
Can't speak for individuals Ian but Ellie uses Windows, has no problems with iTunes, iTunes downloads or syncing her iPhone, anything she downloads plays on windows, she has no problems making cds or what you say. Like you said it is probably your settings etc.. Me everything I have is Mac now so don't have any issues with Apple. Any CD or even DVD I make plays on any system, it is infact easier to make a cd than on a windows PC. But again each to their own. As for Apples pervasiveness, no worse than many other large tech corps, Windows etc. I will go and read the EMS topic when I get chance and if I can remember my log in details.

Are C.d's On The Way Out ?
The last track I downloaded Ian was 253kbps, nothing wrong with the quality I can assure you and I've never had a problem with a download. Have no problems using the system either. Guess it a case of each to their own. Format is ACC and is easily converted. I think you can also choose to download lossless now as well so no issues with quality really.

Are C.d's On The Way Out ?
No you are right, it's not the same. But if I could get the notes via PDF I might consider buying labels like Kent via Download. I rip the cd and it never comes out again. The notes do now and then but if on PC tin would be easier for going back to and searching.

Are C.d's On The Way Out ?
Apple have a huge slice of the download market too, some 70%. It is great when you want to hear something and it is readily available, bought a couple of albums on the basis of listening to one track, can only be good for some artists and small labels. I wouldn't be without my iPod to be honest.

Did iTunes etc ever come out with the liner notes download? If could get Kent via iTunes with the booklet in PDF or something similar then that would be great.
