The demos go for around £250 don't they? Why sell an issue for £100 or more less than you could realistically get? I can remember both sides getting played late 80's early 90's.
  2. Rare pop/rock n roll have dominated the prices on ebay far more often than soul records have, just one in this list.... https://www.popsike.c...h.php?top25=all I know there are instances of soul records fetching 5 figures privately but I bet the same can be said of many pop records.
  3. It isn't fully representative of what is played, not totally, as you say some of them don't have the beat for dancing, they are simply something different to listen to. Some of them are played out, Proffs, Richard Marks etc. Like I said earlier, come along to Lifeline and then judge it for yourself over a full night, not over a few tunes in a podcast, thats not even giving it a chance is it really?
  4. That's true Win but it does take time to "break" a sound these days, can be a number of years to get something universally accepted across the scene or even on a part of the scene, Joseph Webster, Sensations (Demanding Man) two examples. There just isn't the volume of new discoveries to sustain a continuous turn over of records on a weekly/monthly basis but by and large it is kept pretty fresh with tracks being dropped and others brought in.
  5. Click on the website and podcast link in my signature Wiggy, go to podcasts and listen to Andy Dyson's set..........
  6. Don't think there is a top 10? Maybe he should come along at the end of October to Lifeline and he can well and truly decide for himself. Besides my brain is mush right now
  7. as you said David, looks great, will look out for the release over here.

Think John said he put three deliberate mistakes in the latest guide, one was uncovered in a topic on here a while back.
  9. Whilst on about pressing plants...some decent info on this site https://www.45rpmrecords.com/press_type.php
  10. Here's a scan Roger did....I've took some of the colour out so you can hopefully see the stamp a bit clearer......

I wouldn't call it shocking, terrible or other such words but I can't ever see it being up there with his mothers original or even the Moody Blues.
  12. I'd seen that one and when listened no spoken intro... https://www.rarenorthernsoul.com/hot-new-releases/14355/just-like-the-weather---if-he-makes-you/#product reissue = boot I take it?

  14. welcome aboard Rod and best of luck
  15. MP3 request removed, sorry. Also removed blatant website sales plug. Why not just give info about a particular record?
  16. Both are on a 1987 Carrie LP of Clifford's. Previous topic at

Sandbag is the one you want Andy, well its the one Guy played.
  18. you got a link to this Pete?
  19. Neil is on here maybe ask him? He might have a copy of the Richie Parker/Aaron Neville, so George may have been right.
  20. I wouldn't say £867 cheap Marc, about right maybe? If you'd asked me few weeks ago how much I would have thought 800 for Melvin Davis. One on popsike from two yeas ago which sold for $1300. Have seen others for sale over the last couple of years.
  21. Dickie bought it (Sandy Golden) off Rob , three records in the deal.
  22. some of the prices yes but there are plenty, no, loads of decent records at decent prices and plenty of reasonable, cheap and reliable dealers, you should look at little harder you might spot them.
