no offence but you state you reflect all aspects of the scene with your list but all that list reflects to me is your bog standard oldies night.

if for the sake of arguement the digital age wass embraced...do we have digital dj's too afterall there would be no need for the likes of Butch, Andy Dysons, Soul Sam & Gingers. If it did happen I think it would probably see the end of any discoveries as I doubt the collector DJ's who keep the newies scene alive probably wouldn't bother anymore with the djing and juist return to collecting only.

Why not? Kids are finding and getting into vinyl again, admittedly not on the scale of years gone by but vinyl sales are rising amongst kids. It's the idea of actually having something to hold and cherish rather than a virtual track that is starting to appeal. MP3s, ipods etc are here to stay but vinyl hasn't yet gone away.

we did have an all-nighter planned at Sheridans a few years ago where all records had to be worht £50 or less to be played, book price that is not the price some might have paid 20 years earlier for a rarity venue closed and for one reason or another the night never came off.

Sorry for any misunderstanding pal. Tho' I think some would sooner spend £1k on one record than a 100 at a tenner As for looking too many either impatient, idle or just aren't bothered.

It's happened many a time over the years and will no doubt happen in the future.

There's nowt wrong with £50 to £100 records? There's more better records in that price range than some of the £1000 plus records some of the so called top dj's play. It takes more imagination to DJ on a limited budget than to throw money at it and I for one would sooner hear a DJ who uses his (or her) imagination and not just his wallet/cheque book.

it'll be Andy Dyson who spun it Ezzie. rarity probably that has stopped it being heard. I only knew of couple of copies till the few recently.....there could have been others of course but never heard it out before Andy really.

I only knew of two copies before the 2 or 3 on ebay, one on Tim's auctiuon and another a mate bought recently. Not heard Butch spin it, mind you not been out for a good few weeks until Cleethorpes
