  1. I was being kind Pete, you haven't sen my cruel and horrible yet
  2. Saw greed mentioned but who is the greedy one? Often it's the uninformed collector with too much money lacking knowledge and experience, you can't always blame the dealer, especially in an auction situation. Some collectors will go that extra yard to get a copy these days ignoring the fact that the record is often listed one way or another on a weekly basis...they should do their homework . When you've been round records for many years you know the value or have a good idea, demand is also another consideration and that could be local demand as much as national.
  3. Sounds like the Doors or summat Played out where
  4. Always had this down as 30/40 quidder but JM has one @ £100. Gotta agree with you as well Pete great Northern.

Hard one Dan, I would guess a four figure some nowadays. Anyone remember the Bobby Vee version that got a few plays

Two good records Dan. I wouldn't personally class the Steelers as crossover but the TSU Tornados is probably classed a crossover track these days

will be seeing him later so will ask for you.
  15. You need several copies of a record in various parts of the country to make it big. Patrinell Staton for example, Butch played this for ages and was basically only known to the nighter regulars, once others got hold of copy and played more or less at soul nights all over if soon went big all over.

Not sure Dan but Andy Dyson might have got or had a copy. Drop him a mail Dysonsoul@aol.com or i'll check later for you.
  17. often only of interest to completists etc or if can't locate US copy. Attached a scan of an Argentinian Joannie Summers on ebay a while back......
  18. Haven't seen a Brazillian copy of this but seen other Brazillian 45's, Nolan Porter springs to mind. Price wise dunno. Have seen other South American releases and they've fetched nothing like the US release.
  19. they should come over here for the Vanguards Jazzy as it's very cheap, lots of copies about and can't imagine why anyone would want to charge lots of money for it.

Hi Frank, I use Jet Audio, best player I've ever used and the only one I've stuck with. This will also convert to many formats including mp3pro which will reduce your mp3/wav to about the same size as real media when converted at 32 or 40 kbps, far better sound quality than real media to. I've mailed you off list Here's the flip that Frank sent through to me..... Wendell Watts Will You Be Staying After Sunday Ref Or Ree.mp3

It's not bad but it's not great, wouldn't go as far as sublime IMO. If the record was £30 and not £300 I can still get far better records, soulful or white pop stompers as mentioned for my money . His Kiss A Goodthing Goodbye is far better even though the recording is poorer, damn sight rarer too
  22. personally would add a dj in the middle...one that plays tunes that are known but not often played, certtainly not at your mainstream events). Not that many dj's playing new records (new discoveries). not that many venues either.
