  1. Is this a 'legit' issue CD? There are some tracks on here that I have heard Ginger play and some I have not. So are they meant to reflect his playlist or his likes? He is on record as disliking Joey Delorenzo for example but I've never heard him play Buddy Smith so I guess he plays it infrequently yet Eddie Spencer is in every one of his sets I've heard for a while now (I prefer the Precisions any way). I'm not sure what he is trying to achieve in putting this out but I am sure he has done himself few favours. If 'big name' DJs can be said to be a 'Brand' this CD creates a mixed message and so weakens his 'Brand position'. This might sound like marketing tosh but just think does anyone on this forum doubt the 'Brand Position' of Butch? And could any one see him putting out a CD with such a mixture on? Ginger is a great bloke (for a Man United fan) but this CD is an error in judgement IMO.

  14. I thnk if I was playing this 'blind so to speak it wouldn't get past the first second before I was flipping it over to hear the other side Having said that if you give it a chance the vocals are OK. I have lots of sounds like this bought blind  still some of my blind buys have been a bit better
  15. The flipant answers first: It has to be a record obviously (not a CD) The artsist makes the record but should the question be 'who' not 'what'? Where something is recorded is irrelevant surely if everything else concerned with the recording remained unchanged then a recording in Chicago and one in New Orleans would be the same surely? Colour of the artist is irrelevant and sometimes we don't even know, funny how some peoples opinions on a track change id they find out the artist is white Personal taste that's it thats the answer as you can see on 98% of postings on here The real answer is probably something about the conection between the emotion of the artist and the emotion of the listener. But perhaps thats my personal taste
