  1. There's a 12" copy on Amazon for about a fiver, as for the 7" no idea I'm afraid. It's only pug ugly cos it's not a paper label, if only it had been silver on black
  2. Yep, with a Picture Sleeve, early 90's I think but it's a pig ugly label, painted pink Motown label. If I remember when I get home I'll scan it

    OMG, cheeky bugger
  4. Just taken a look at my copy and mine has the James Brown head with "A James Brown Production. SOUL I" Great album and I'm not sure if this info even helps

    Ya but it's free P&P
  6. Marc Spot on, I played this out last November and the dancefloor exploded, fantastic toooone Nice set of black & white images that the fella used in the video too
  7. Ken, funny you should mention the Wigan thing..... a few years back at a Soul Night organised by Francis T and boys in Kidderminster they had booked Russ Winstanley to play, the place was packed with normals and after he'd finished his spot said normals started coming over for his autograph, strange but true. Then this fella with his girlfriend appears and he ask's Russ to sign the bottom of her back, I didn't watch him signing her back cos she was wearing hot pants and looked great but the boyfriend copped me looking, so quick as flash I asked what was gonna happen when the ink washed off, he wasn't bothered because he had her booked in the day after to have it tattoed over; so this girl in her thirties is supposedly walking around with winstanley on her back all the time, poor cow

have to agree with Kev; great idea Joan, over to Mike We list as many playlists as we can for the Coppertops Soulnites in Worcester, Guests and residents alike. And then at last months Soulful Sessions a number of punters questioned why didn't we list from that night too, so next year we will.
  9. Unfortunately not, well nice tracks but nothing on the same level as Lend A Hand, still a great LP to have in the collection tho
  10. Gotta say, not a bad tune so far............... fab
  11. Yes but why do a Winter In America, it's a lot cheaper to get an apartment in Benadorm and it's warmer. And another thing; that Womack fella can't count or ain't much good at figgering out problems, there's only two sides of a person, the rightside and the backside. Plus, how many sides does a coin have - three......... I like this thread, wish I'd seen it earlier

Aa but the 12" version is different to the one Terry plays, I've been playing the original version since May down in the West Country at the likes of Soulfusion, Soulful Sessions and the Berkeley All-nighter and have been getting a great response - what a record
  13. Barry, I know you're light-years in distance away in Yorkshire but you should try the Soulful Sessions in Worcester, next one Sept 5th, for a good cross section and mix of Soul Music from the 7t's thru to today's new sounds. Then there's always Soulfusion Soulnites based down in Gloucester on Sept 20th if you want to hear Colin Curtis playing a 'no-hold-barred' Soul set, been too long since Colin visited us The term Modern is really only used to mean 'not Northern', do people give the same reaction to R&B? It's all Soul Music and that means it spans from the 5t's thru to today, which is fan-bloody-tastic cos we have so much to choose from. Northern will always be the primary force on the British Soul Scene, which leaves all the other types/flavours to run smaller venues/events either with or away from the bigger Northern events. Both Marc and Roger are right in there replies, nice one boys
  14. It's almost like University Challenge this; our starter for 10; can you list Mark Randle's CD mix from Sept 2004, an extra 20 points if you can answer before Mr Randle himself
  15. How about a list then?
  16. Have to agree with Dave on this, Jerry does a great show. Always listen if I'm working from home and always tune in if I'm heading down the M5. When we're at Soulfusion Jerry aways comes in during set, listens and then asks for the tunes; if there CDR's then he takes them away and low and behold there being played the next week on the show. Andy Gilespy does a great House show and as Dave's also mentioned there's aways the friendly voice of Leon, thumping out stomping Northern for two hours. These local radio stations need our support, taking to one of the directors last year he commented on just how much the Internet Radio side cost's, so the revenue in from advertising is crutial. There's a dodgy advert being played on GFM at the moment, worth listening to just to hear the guy pronounce Adi Pountians name
