  4. This thread is a re-issue... Just to confuse things, the ebay seller with quantity was based in vegas. So he could have turned up old stock. I bought one of the pale looking ones. When it arrived it had deep orange labels and isn't see through. The rule is: if you own this, it's original. If you're looking to buy, it's a bootleg!
  5. Thanks for the response - yup, I've also got the yellow label demo EP. BUT... has anyone seen the regular 7" release? And, yes, was aware of Syl Johnson - Geno is a cover version, a pretty great one too I reckon. Just want a louder pressing!
  6. Looking for a UK 45: GENO WASHINGTON "Different Strokes" b/w "You Got Me Hummin'" (Pye 7N 17425) I've got the EP this is on, but never seen a copy of the 45. And, like some previously mentioned UK titles it's got me wondering if it definitely came out... Any help appreciated!
  7. That was on the Jukebox Jam label - and that is now selling for £50+
  8. The old "make me an offer, so long as it's higher than what I was going to price it at.." tactic. Class!

  10. And... another record I've asked about on here! I'm not entirely sure if this was released on Action, never seen one, never heard of one for sale - and on a thread about UK Action Sean Hampsey said he had a complete run. But didn't actually confirm whether he had this: ACT 4623 Chosen Few - Funky Butter // Wondering 1974 So, can anyone confirm or deny its existence?
  11. I've asked for this on here too, with no joy. Think it must be pretty hard to turn up OR nobody is prepared to part with it OR you just get shunned for asking for a b**tl*g.
  12. Saw this had sold (for £50) on a well-known soul site earlier today, so thought I'd offer up a copy: DEEP HEAT "Precious Woman" b/w "Kozz" (Excello) W/D M- £35 Last ever release on Excello from 1976 - actually the Dynamic Corvettes - 2 great sides, modern funky boogie gear... lovely demo copy. 14. That's not Keb's Soul Spectrum comp, that's an Edinburgh club night called Soul Spectrum. Now with its own label putting out some great 45s... Here's the link to Soul Spectrum Vol. 1 (compiled with Bob Jones): https://www.discogs.com/Various-Soul-Spectrum/release/163385
  15. Could have been Bobby Reed "The Time Is Right For Love", certainly something he played later... Not quite sure what Nick Harrison's problem is, can't remember last time I read such a negative bitchy post. Then again, i'm probably in the Keb fan club he's so keen to slag off. A man with so much enthusiasm, knowledge and passion, regardless of musical style. Sad he won't be djing too much in the uk, but i'll definitely make the effort next time he's back...
  16. "little boy blue" by LittleBuck? Also on Seven B...

  21. >it cracked as my GF my mistake dropped it on the floor, as she wanted to be DJ one night. Happy to say I've finally replaced it! Glad to hear you found a new one, but referring to the lady in question as "it" is a bit strong???!!! Did you ever find a replacement record? Hang on, maybe I read that wrong... ;-}
  22. Ticket sales were slow for Sharon Jones, and that ended up packed out. In fact, I was amazed to see it so busy (maybe 6 or 700 people?). Promoters always get twitchy about pre-sales, but people never bother buying tickets unless it's going to sell out... which in an ideal universe Lee Fields would do, every time!
