  1. That sleeve leaves a lot to be desired...
  2. Talking of using the same stampers, I picked up a spare copy of "Nothing But A House Party" by The Show Stoppers (on UK Beacon) and was surprised to see it had "Mastered by Frankford / Wayne" in the run out grooves, along with a different (presumably US) catalogue number. Didn't know they used US stampers to make UK pressings???
  3. Nice looking box, but do you have any more photos of it?
  4. Ah, the infamous xxxrecords. They get insane prices for very average Uk records. Also famous for use of CAPITAL LETTERS and putting things in bold... This is my favourite part of the description: This is the ORIGINAL Hickory U.S. Promotional 1st Pressing from 1965 and is in GREAT condition!!!! The record is pressed on THICK quality vinyl!!!! This is the ORIGINAL 1965 UK 1st Pressing on the 1st Press Hickory 'Promotional' label and the Cat No is 45-1323.

  6. I was meaning, this record could go massive, even outside germany...
  7. Don't know if too many people on here collect Nigerian afro-funk...
  8. Lucky my copy arrived in the post this morning then... This tune is going to go massive over the next few months.
  9. Just got this recently myself - loads of great tracks. Have any of them been played out over the years?
  10. Why not post a link straight to that then? Doesn't really take too much skill to amass thousands of shite records. I've managed a pretty good job myself...
  11. I thought this had a mock-up SOUL label - there were definitely three releases at the same time... EDIT: What an eejit - just checked and I had it all along!!! Brilliant, like getting a new record without leaving the house...
  12. Looking for BARBARA McNAIR "Baby-A-Go-Go" - was booted a few years back on 45 but didn't pick it up at the time. Anyone help out? TA! PS Yes, I can see a couple of nasty carvers on ebay but I'd like, err, a "real bootleg"!!!
  13. C'mon - £15 - you can't even buy a new LP in the shops for that!!!!!

  18. CURTIS, THE BROTHERS "You Make Everything Better" (Bell) Aargh! Forgot to bid on the copy on ebay - if anyone wants to capitalise on the buzz surrounding this, drop me a PM!

Think there's only 3 known copies of this or something stupid... it's just been re-issued by Jazzman. WHAT'S GOING ON?!
  20. Hmmm, can't see it would make any difference what speed you back-cue at. Vinyl records don't suffer from cue-burn. Styrene records do. That's about it really... You occasionally get styrene records which hiss the whole way through, or in certain passages or in one channel. Then again, you get styrene singles which look utterly battered and play perfectly.
  21. How many ways ARE there of bringing up a weekly ORIGINALS v BOOTLEGS thread...
  22. Are there any soundclips of those LEON GARDNER 45s? Searching on here, he seems to be poorly represented!!!
  23. Thought this was an easy to pick up £50 record.... nope?
  24. Hmmm, I've requested this a few times on this forum and not got anywhere. Tricky one... not rare, but nobody seems to want to sell. And I missed that copy on ebay too...
