  8. Might have a copy of this on the original FORTE label if that's any use? PM me if it is...
  9. All Jazzman releases are fully licensed and totally official - on their funk compilations (Florida Funk, Texas Funk, Midwest Funk etc.) each band are tracked down, interviewed and properly preserved for posterity... despite the leanings toward funk, plenty of the back catalogue would appeal to memebers on here. The SAADIA compilation, FANIA, pretty much most of the 12"s (Beloyd, Ellipsis). And nearly forgot the new SOUL45 imprint - Little Beaver, Purple Mundi, Tolbert - all limited to 500 copies, and ALL FULLY LICENSED...
  10. Got a Susan King on coloured swirly vinyl... From memory it's kinda blue-y brown swirls in clear vinyl and, yes, it looks as crap as you'd imagine...
  11. Okay - ONE last bump before this gets buried once and for all...
  12. A wee bump for the weekend Sourcers...
  13. HA! I feel like that bit at the end of Gregory's Girl, where they've been holding up the sign hitch-hiking: Charlie: That's not the way you spell Caracas, anyway. Andy: What? Charlie: Caracas. It's c-a-s, not c-u-s. Andy: We've been standing here for four hours! Why didn't you tell me? Okay, anyone got a copy of CONNIE AUSTIN on King? Just waiting for the offers to flood in now...
  14. Bah! Why didn't you just set sale me it??? Can I score just ONE of these tunes off the wants list and get it into the "hot box"?
  15. For sale, mint unplayed UK stock copy: SUE LYNNE "Don't Pity Me" (RCA Victor RCA 1822) £150 Registered P&P extra. PM if interested - thanks!
  16. Yes, thanks for asking... Well, I don't expect to get them all in one go. And nobody has actually offered anything yet, so the cash register looks untouched for the moment... C'mon - CONNIE AUSTIN can't be that rare? Someone, help me out here!
  17. Here's a few oddball 45s I'm after - any help much appreciated. PMs gratefully received... Marie Franklin - Move On Love (Stage Music FAN 304) The Apollas - Seven Days (Warner Bros 7181) Willie J. Charles - Feeling Kinda Lonesome (Glad-Hamp) Lewise Bethune - Chi-town Boogaloo (Sack 4363) Hector Rivera - I Want A Chance For Romance (Barry 1012) Connie Austin - Ball Of Fire (Federal) The Blue Soul - Getting The Corners (Westwood 1009 OR TTT Printz) Leroy Harris - I'm Gonna Get You (Swan) Wendy Lynn - Can You Remember (King) Billy Hawks - Whip It On Me / Ooh Baby (French Stateside 45) Andrew Brown - You Made Me Suffer (Brave)
  18. I presume you're meaning versions of the flip-side "Soul Thing" - the Keith Mansfield version came out on UK 45.
  19. I'm currently helping to go through a very large TV station library collection, and there were two copies of this in there. Nearly every single in the collection is a demo, but neither of these were. Apparently they just had writing on the labels...
  20. Did anyone ever get to the bottom of whether The Chosen Few ever actually came out? Anyone seen one? This would be THE place to post... I presume UK 45s with dinkable centres are more attractive because there's every chance that the centre will have been pushed out, making finding one WITH the centre intact even MORE desirable because of it. If it's got a solid centre, you don't have this quandry... !
  21. Err, that would be the original then... 12" is pretty sought after by the disco brigade, goes on for about 3 days. I'd have rated P&P single at £100, Roulette single and 12" at £50. The P&P version is a slightly different mix, less hi-hatty and extra vocals so sounds a bit more northern rather than disco - magnificent record. Is there another 45 by Four Below Zero (on P&P)? I heard a rumour there was, but never really chased it up...
  22. Err, that'll be a no then...

Err, I should know that - I've got both of them...! They both start off with pretty good drum breaks... not that that's any excuse!!!
  24. I've got a 45 which is a fairly recent re-issue on UPSETTER credited to Bunny Rugs, and a Lee Perry production. Is this the same, or another reggae version?
  25. Anyone able to help with this??? Was sure someone would have a copy they'd be prepared to part with...
