  1. Plus, I believe in the music that I make with every fibre of my being. I have no desire, none whatsoever, to go visit a club that wouldn't play one of my records. That's like throwing acid in my face. BIT EGOTISTICAL IS IT NOT? A club has to play your records or you wont visit? You did pay your dues, true. BUT that doesn't entitle you to comment on the scene NOW, if your not a part of it. It has changed and moved on since your day. How can you comment if you have NO idea whats going on. You dont even know whats being played. There are three in particular that have really made me weary of it all. And wonder why I other. Then I listen back to Fay Jones singing "You Threw A Lucky Punch" and Nat Augustin singing "Love Is My Sanctuary", and I realise that no old bigoted closed minded fool can take away my joy at how great I think they sound, and how artistically and creatively satisfied I am with them. Well, a bit of the old 'double standards here. Mike says I cant talk openly on here. So i stop. And then Levine points fingers again. So, im going to answer, at the risk of the censorship on this site removing it. The REASON Ian that you are being questioned (you call it attacked) is because you came on here and attacked Joan and others. Can you explain WHY you feel its OK for you to do this and yet when its done to you, you whinge to the sites editors.? Simple question, answer it and I will duck out. Still waiting for the answer to this ONE important question Ian. But, for the unprovoked attack you made on Joan, i wouldn't be on this thread. YOU and your music have NEVER been a part of my life and I dont feel YOU, as a person are worth the energy of replying. BUT, your hypocritical whinging and double standards when it comes to people questioning your rudeness and vitriol , are just too blatently out of order to sit down and shut up. So, dont make Pete answer for you, or Mr darcy ask for us to be removed, just a simple explaination of why you should be able to launch attacks on people , but not receive reciprocal treatment? A fair question i think? waiting

  3. STILL WAITING FOR THE REPLY MIKE?
  4. I have one....
  5. WELL said. I cant comment anymore, as I think 'SOMEONE' has complained about personal attacks...after personally attacking the people Mikey has mentioned above. A sort of hypocrisy being exercised I feel. Im still amazed that the site didn't step in when the original attacks were made against these people, but are quick to step in for the man im not allowed to mention....lets call him 'Mr Big' for now. Maybe an apology from the originator of these attacks is in order?
  6. Looks like the proper one to me.

  16. So, back to now, much as I ABSOLUTELY love all this old time reminiscing. There is so much talk on Soul Source about attracting new people to the scene and records getting stale etc. Yet here are the 'old fellas' putting in 40 odd pages of 'the way we were'....very exciting stuff im sure . In fact, I was there, but choose to get more excited about TODAY and TOMORROW! Both of which have absolutely NOTHING to do with the 'EMPOROR' and this ''New Clothes' tribute thread. so please....let it go. If you want to get back into or more aptly 'ON TO' the scene, its simple Ian, stop the talking and do the walking. Get out and show us how much you love it. Stop all this arm chair reminiscing and back slapping. I mean, you old guys are kinda cute, with your comparisons and memories. But, you have already tortured us with them via video and dvd. SO, we dont, as Gil Scott Heron put it, "need no re-run". This thread is the soul source equivalent of 'Last Of The Summer Wine'.....you can decide whos who, but can we please make it the LAST SERIES. Many Thanks A Very Bored Viewer.

Seven O' Levels, three A' Levels. Played rugby at school. Then dropped out Manchester University in 1971, 'I had no interest' AS MR Levine is running a campaign for 'NEW SOUL EMPEROR', I feel it neccessary to remind potential voters of our esteemed candidates credentials, lest we forget.
  18. AS a business man, on the soul scene and selling soul (loose term obviously), your CV has EVERYTHING to do with this forum. We need to be aware of your motives, as a business man and as a person. If you did not sell cds, dvds etc, then YES, it would be irrelivent. Im not saying I know what motives are, but if you post your cv on other sites, why with hold it from this one. Are you ashamed of it? I dont think so, why should you be? Im not ashamed of my cv and indeed , I made it available when I was doing the play. Also, you say you are appalled and sad....well sorry, I was appalled and angry, when you attacked one of my close and very 'soulful' friends on here. So grab a seat, have a cry and get over it. I see you like to 'give' but not 'take'.

Then dropped out Manchester University in 1971, 'I had no interest' POST REMOVED, CENSORSHIP Yesterday, I posted Mr Levines cv, that he actually wrote for his website, which, I think its fair to say, is a tool for promoting himself. I am reposting it (without comment!), as I think you can draw some interesting conclusions from it. But I will leave that to you. I also think that SS is being bullied and in some ways , manipulated by Mr L, as I wrote nothing libelous or untrue in my comments. It is ridiculous that Mr L asks for posts to be removed that he does not agree with......its only positive comments he wants folks, so let the congratulations continue. I would NEVER ask for ANYTHING to be removed that was written about myself. I have NOTHING TO HIDE OR BE ASHAMED OF. . There is nothing like good, honest, truthful, debate and this thread IS nothing like good, truthful, honest debate. I trust this is positive enough for you to leave on Mike? Let the self promotion continue. Thanks Paul-S.
