Yes thats right, JMs price guide has it at £200. As its taken him 30 years to come accross a copy I guess there wont be too many around. BH

My mate Kev Johnno was selling a pretty beat copy for a friend at the Canal tavern in Thorne and he'd found a Phillips sleeve to make it look better, said sleeve had £3 marked on it in almost invisible writing. Along comes Soul Sam and pulls the record out of kevs box and puts £3 in his hand and walks away, after a rather heated exchange the record was handed back, nice try Sam The only other UK copy I ever saw was at Vintage record centre in north London at £80 in 83/84. Has anyone got a full soundclip of the Sonny Munroe track "Tears can only make the problem wet" as featured on JMs auction site? I have a P-vine cd with most of his Epic 45s including unreleased material but this track is not included. Thanks in anticipation BH

I think Shaun Robbins' playlists for his show on Solar are fertile grounds for tips, he and his co-presenters have brought a load of great new sounds to myself over the last year or so. Yes some are reactivated from back in the day but some "new" discoveries as well. I love looking for them on GEMM/ebay while he is playing them and grabbing a bargain BH PS The playlists are on E.M.S PPS Happy new year to all

Turn the telly on to see the news on this christmas morning and was greeted by the news James Brown has passed away. Love him or not theres no denying his contribution to Soul Music, it will be a funky time in heaven from now on. Rest in peace sir BH

Yes Eddie he tells a good tale, I spent a day going through his collection a few years back and some of the stories he told me were hilarious (he went out for a pizza and came back three weeks later, was one of his gems) He's on Starpoint today at 14:00 to 18:00 so I'll be tuning in soon. "Strange, that so many Polydor 45s are hard to find" Add to that Epic, some brilliant recordings but rare stock copies. It was a bit of an obsession of mine some years back and both labels would make for a great (Kent/Ace??) retrospective. How about it Tony or Ady? BH -
