  1. Head for Bleaker street in Greenwhich Village, 3 or 4 record stores in a few hundred yards. One store had a box of 60s 45s behind the counter. Good luck PS there was a great bar on the same st, I think it was called Groove the home of funk, saw a great band there one freezing December night.Only problem the waitress wanted a $3 tip for every drink served!!! BH
  2. Not you Pete, so that only leaves............
  3. Its a bit rich that people who have sailed VERY close to the wind regarding copyright might start using those rights if it impacts on there revenues. People living in glass houses....... BH
  4. Talking of price guides just what is copyrighted? I have read the copyright in Tims guide and I am no wiser. Surley I cant be sued for giving a value for a record I own and is in the public domain (ie on this site). Its only a matter of time before someone combines both price guides, alters the prices slightly and has an online price guide. It seems odd that in this day of internet everything that this information is only available in a very expensive book (£29.99). When an online version appears (and it will) prices could be updated instantly, discoveries added and indemand titles revalued. Of course there would be a subscription but it must be cheaper than buying a new price guide every couple of years. Is there a non existant title in these books to catch anyone thinking of doing this out I wonder! BH
  5. Was it Gay Gordons Ted ?
  6. Playing through some old tapes yesterday and "Shadows and Reflections" by The Lonely Crowde on MGM came on, what a bag of shi*e! How did such a crap record ever get played especially during a time when so many classics were around. Apart from sounds made for the scene is this the worst ever? PS. This books at £40 issue and £25 dj. How? BH
  7. Just look to the Doo wop/vocal groups scene. They are a generation in front of us. The records can (with very few exceptions) only get rarer. I sold up and regret it, borrow money at 7% and keep your records.BH
  8. Cheers Girth, your right as all the other cuts are on that cd along with the awsome "Whats it all about" Counts. "Yes I'm in love" always reminds me of the theme from Mash! Weird 'init
  9. Hi Folks, Been playing "Westbound sound of Detroit" in the car all day and Unique Blends "Mommy and Daddy blew me away. If they had called it something else it would have been a monster, that wah wah guitar gets me everytime. Anyone got a copy for sale? Eastbound 626 Does he treat you better/Mommy and Daddy

    Is it the dooleys????????
  11. I only asked if one particular record was dear (Bernie Milton). It just struck me that uk dealers were buying from Craig as there seems a lot of familiar titles. I too have bought records for many years with no problems. I find his real bargains are major label stuff that has slipped through, (Zapp " Do you really want an answer" $5 steal) if your not chasing the same titles as everyone else he's your man. BH
  12. Going through a bag of tapes the other day and found one called "own stuff". I could name every tune but this one (and I did the tape!!!) Thanks in advance. BH Sorry folks its back to the drawing board I thought I'd cracked attaching a mp3.............Wrong There coming to take me away ha ha he he to the funny farm.
  13. What about "Summer in the parks" Thrombo material!
  14. Just had my monthly trawl through Craigs soul rarities and theres some nice stuff indeed, been a while since I've seen a Eddie Foster (in) for sale. A couple of things struck me though, are most of the UK dealers buying from him and just hyping up his prices? Seems to be a lot of duplicity. I was suprised to see Bernie Milton "60/40" at $600, is this about right, seems dear to me, BH
  15. Well said that man.
  16. Gladys (leaving out all the slushy stuff)?
  17. Great idea for a thread. Tom Green uk only (just fluked a minter from GEMM . ...listed as other side!!!) BH
  18. Can anyone tell me about the Embers "Aware of love" track on the Dream Dancers CD? My guess is its a dog rare 45 (they always are!!) A mate says its a lp track. Any info much appreciated. BH
  19. Right or wrong I will always blame him for the Dells not doing an encore at Trentham Gardens. I still believe they saved the songs we wanted to hear for the encore and Levines hogging of the mike/stage killed a once in a lifetime moment. BH
  20. --> QUOTE(mark.b @ Sep 21 2005, 11:17 PM) link mark h have emailed them with order if they have it will let you know they quite often do not have what they list mark Hi Mark, As this is the last record listed in Timmmys price guide is it fair to assume you only need this 45 to own every record listed in it!!!!!!!!!!!!! Blake H
