Syng Mcgowan
Are you thinking of "I Can`t Turn My Back On You" by Vince Apollo? On the flipside of "I Bear Witness"... Dunno what it is but Syng McGowan and Vince Apollo remind me of each other although they`re totally different....weird...

Is E-bay Diminishing Rapidly?
And also the economic situation around the world could be a factor. But the internet is a law unto itself anyway but you`d expect people who have fallen on hard times because of the recession to be selling items and bargains would be there to be had. But I think Mr Dewhirst is correct-this doesn`t seem to be happening. What`s everyone else`s take on this?

Grapevine Records
Also you don`t see stuff like Flame N` King-Ho Happy Day/Bold Ones-Ain`t Nobody Jivin` often anymore...

Grapevine Records
And also nice to see that RCA put a few "bonus" tracks on their Grapevine LPs which weren`t issued as Grapevine 45`s- obviously to boost the album sales. I remember people who were primarily Gravevine singles collectors also buying the albums for stuff like "To The Ends Of The Earth" and such..

Unknown Northern Soul On Ebay
Maybe your "fully souled up" PC is trying to tell you something, Biggun. Summat like "I don`t like playing 50`s country music.."

James Brown L.p. - Which One Is Original?
Good thing he doesn`t--At 13mins 51secs this is one long track..... And I still love his fourth(?) version of "LOST SOMEONE" from this album though...

James Brown L.p. - Which One Is Original?
NO! But he DOES wear.......a MOUSTACHE!!! But not on the label. Only on the album sleeve. Just a hatless afro on the label. "It`s hell down here and we`ve got to make a change"

Grapevine Records
Got quite a few of `em missen including Lester Tipton, Stanley Woodruff and many others. A legacy from my teenage years-I spent quite a while trying to collect `em all..(but failed) For durability and sound quality over time you can`t beat British -even if they aren`t (for the most part on this label) original sixties/seventies releases..

James Brown L.p. - Which One Is Original?
The UK original issue was on Polydor 2659 036. Gate fold cover which opened to reveal a full spread poster of the man himself. Issued in 1974. Hope this helps.

The Magic Touch Label
Well, all I own are HARVEY SCALES-TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE and the instrumental version on another MAGIC TOUCH 45 somewhere. Wouldn`t mind a copy of SEAN TAYLOR (MR ESQUIRE)-NEVER DO I WORRY if someone`s got one for sale. Been searching for this since Cleethorpes Pier many moons ago...Scarce-ish...

Well,if anyone`s at the HILL tomorrow night and asks me for either DRY WELL, THE SEEDS (or both) we`ll be happy to play `em. Because we`re like that. Should be another crackin` night... see you there..- Respect Yourself - The Stax Story

Sharon-Again you`ve hit the nail on the head. Exactly what we were talking about last night.- Why Do People Run Soul Nights, Nighters Etc
So THAT`S why you and Wendy hardly come to our place anymore, mate.. BUT SERIOUSLY FOLKS: Everyone`s welcome at our place-whatever type of person. Imagine if you could have a party in your front room at home and could invite a maximum 120 people! But only 50 on average turn up. That`s how we run it. Party, party ,party....Relaxed laid back atmosphere..great dance floor..friendly hosts people and atmosphere On average I lose money running Barrow Hill after paying the DJ`S-paying for the room-paying for a few drinks-paying for a taxi home. Works out like a cheap night out. Never expected to make much money, if any at all. A chance to play different across the board sounds with no rules along with stuff that people know-no pressure- we encourage all our guest dj`s to do the same. This venue will be around for a long long time...we do it because we love to do it- and for the love of it. - Top Tips For 2009
