Unbearable to watch after a few seconds. I don't even tell anyone im into Northern anymore 😖
  2. A recent visit to Happisburgh in Norfolk. This village has suffered terribly from coastal errosion. A local farmer who ploughed a 12-acre field one night in 1845 , woke the next morning after a storm to find only the sea!
  3. Here's a couple of pics I took recently at Middleton Lakes nature reserve near Tamworth.. A Linnet and a Stonechat.
  4. All these "dedicated soulies" you mention. Nowhere to be seen in the 80s , 90s, only found out about it when the internet came about. just a fancy dress night out for most . Mainstream entertainment.
  5. That is an amazing photo !!
  6. Best years of my life going to Wigan. Nothing has ever come close. I've never been in a building since where you could feel/smell/touch the atmosphere like Wigan. Probably the energy of youth in the air. I still have the occasional dream where I'm there again, I can almost touch it , it was a feeling how you percieved the world at the time. Glad I went for the last 4 years.
  7. Kestrel over the sea in North Norfolk last week .
  8. Whilst blackberry picking today in Burton on Trent, heard a high pitched buzzing.. further investigation of a nearby hedge unearthed several of these critters... !!
  9. Stompers... 1:16:41 in.... Incredible !!!
  10. This will be of interest to lots of Midlanders into the scene in the early 90s. Went there a few times, great place, great times.
  11. The way he handles the records ! fingers all over them ! 😲
  12. Sarah was over the moon with her £9 SUN holiday.
  13. Derelict Pontins Hemsby. Had a nosey round this place on a recent trip to Norfolk. Closed down about 9 years ago and it's virtualy intact, just left to nature .
  14. Just been to Norfolk and was lucky enough to see a Swallowtail butterfly . The largest, and one of the rarest butterflies in the UK. Only found on the Norfolk Broads.
  15. Here's a couple of pics I took of a Sedge Warbler last week. Sedge Warblers are quite easy to photograph near reed beds as they show themselves whilst singing, usually on a small bush in the reeds. Reed Warblers and Cettis Warblers are more elusive and skulk about low down in the reeds.
  16. Here's where it is Steve. https://www.derbyshirewildlifetrust.org.uk/nature-reserves/willington-gravel-pits First time I've been there today, brilliant site, loads of Cetti's, cuckoo, whitethroats, etc. spent 3 hours wandering around there. I'll have to get to Willington soul club ! Mike
  17. Thanks Winsford Soul 🙂. My camera isn't the best, but at Middleton lakes Tamworth, there's several Grasshopper Warblers reeling all day at the moment between the 2 screens ,and theyre quite visible so I got lucky .
  18. Willington gravel pits Derbyshire this morning, Firstly; Sedge Warbler, Reed Warbler, Mediterranean Gull. Middleton Lakes Friday; Grasshopper Warbler reeling. A most remarkable sound ! . warbler.mp4
  19. Bobby Freeman. The Swim/ C'mon and swim
  20. I took my car to the filming for 2 days, it was great fun. I went back the day after to the locations in Bury and the council were removing the graffitti , heres a couple of pics..
  21. This huge swarm settled on a tree where I work today in Lichfield . Can anybody identify what type of Bee or Hornet they are ?
  22. Just been on holiday to North Norfolk and was lucky enough to capture these newly fledged Chiffchaffs waiting to be fed . They were in a low bush next to my caravan and kept coming back to the same small branch over 3 days.
  23. Newcomers to the scene don't do crazy things like this .. In the winter of 1980 , I went to Wigan on a lambretta. I picked my mate up from Pelsall near Walsall (Timmy Thacker). , and in the freezing cold, we rode all the way up the M6, 80 odd miles , and it even started to snow and sleet . we were going flat out at 55 mph and had to stop at every services else we'd have froze to death. My scoot was a 1969 GP125 id bought for £50 dragged out of a neighbours shed.. we had no AA, no tools or mechanical knowledge , but we made it ... Went down a one way street in Wigan ( the wrong way) and cars flashing us , then got to the Casino, we leaned the scoot against the wall on the side of the Casino cus the stand was broke. I remember the place was nearly empty, just a couple of hundred there, it was a crap night really, and the next morning, my bike was still there, and we had to bump start it outside . The exhaust cracked as we got on the M6 and it was deafening all the way home and losing power.. nearly got wiped out by a few lorries, but made it home... I can still picture Timmy on the back with his Fonze style leather bomber jacket shivering to death . we were only 18 and it was one of the madder things ive done.... To this day, I can remember it clearly. But we did it... and every time i see Timmy , he says "remember when we went to Wigan on your scooter mick ! "
  24. Pretty sure I saw the Marvelettes at Wigan , 1980 . A Saturday night and there wasn't many there .
  25. Many thanks Sir .
