  1. You're right Dave, LP only "The Spice Of Life" double LP. I've not seen the 45 on e-bay but I assume its the "free sample" picture sleeve which features snippets of several songs from the LP and a few anecdotes/recollections from Gamble and Huff about making the LP. It was released to promote the LP at the time and is a solid centre 45 playing at 33rpm. Mecury also relesed one of these 45s to promote Jerry Butlers "The Sagitarius Movement" LP Cheers Paul
  2. Nah the worlds not gone mad "denbo", British label collecters will always pay large sums of cash to complete their collections. And why not? Its their money, good luck to 'em Cheers Paul
  3. One of my most treasured possesions is a black feather that dropped of Jean Carns scarf during a gig @ the Jazz Cafe. A mate of mine once caught a bit of Roy Ayers's sweat as he stood near the stage..................probably washed off now but he was most pleased at the time (my mate not Roy Ayers) Cheers Paul
  4. Thanks honky Cheers Paul
  5. Any chance of a tracklist/price please your honkyness ? Cheers Paul

  9. Depends what you're into Andy but I reckon you got yourself a bargain. Don"t think theres any northern tracks as such but choc full of great soul music produced by Smokey Robinson and arranged by Wade Marcus and the great David Van De Pitte. Released 1970. Couple of nice covers of "Thats How Heartaches Are Made" and "Someday We'll Be Together" Cheers Paul

  11. Maybe, but the arrangement by the fabulous George Kerr is an integral part of the record and I too would like to here an instrumental. And I"m a huge Linda Jones fan BTW Cheers Paul
  12. Pretty sure the Wilson Picket was Pat Bradys "Brother Louie Brown" C/up...................the rest sound 'bout right 'cept Cecil Washington was "......Like To Lose" not "loose" played "as" Joe Matthews and the Inserts of course. Cheers Paul
  13. I'm guessing its a rare 'un Bob ? Cheers Paul
  14. Wasn"t suggesting its a "known" problem Mr Smoka.................just seemed to read that way going thru this thread. Cheers Paul
  15. Blimey after reading all this I think I'll stick to my (legit) 70s vinyl re-issue instead of searching for a real one. Don't wanna be paying 40+ quid for a hop skip and jumper . Didn't the first copies of Alfie Davidson (45) also have the skipping prob" ? Cheers Paul
  16. But miff you could buy a few good soul records for 40 quid Cheers Paul
  17. "I Cant Stop" also got a UK 45 release with a picture sleeve. Cheers Paul
  18. Very good call on all these sounds Mr H................."Unwanted Company" always sends me into a "soul" trance Now, a CD comp of Norma Toneys work would be top of my shopping list Cheers Paul
