The Casino footage has been reviewed on Soul Source before .. If memory serves me right it was for a BBC documentary.. Dave Litherland from Horwich originally is on it and was at Ian Cunliffes birthday bash on Saturday. I will ask him
We went to Goldsouls event in Spain last October and enjoyed it
Personally Ive never been to the Tenerife events but plenty of friends go
We went to Carl Piper and Tommos event in Spain in march and will be going again next year..we loved it
It is apparent that folks who have never visited The Wheel since the move to Alter Ego don't realise there is a second room
The second room guest DJs have included Sean Chapman, Nige Brown, Andy Scoffin, Black Bee Boys etc when I have visited and the play list includes music other than the original Wheel Playlist
Do not knock a venue until you have at least visited it
The music policy in the second room at the Wheel is not as strict and it maybe worth approaching Pete Roberts with your idea..
He might dismiss it but then again he may consider it!
Don't diss the Wheels policy without visiting the venue and seeing and listening for yourselves
The amount of folks still attending who visited the wheel when it first started at Brazenose St and it's later move to Whitworth Street and their memories of how the scene was at the beginning is a joy to experience
By some of the comments should other great clubs in and around the City lose the name when they move to other premises such as Manchester City when they left Main Road
The campaign to save the Wheel was anything but low key and most of the original Wheelers who attended regular towards the end of Whitworth Street and followed it in the move to NQ Live and Alter Ego got involved
There where one or two who maybe because of their Egos felt it necessary to have their own separate campaigns rather than one joint campaign, some of the same folks said the Club would die after it lost it's Whitworth Street premises....How wrong they where!
Check out the prices they charge to get into the venues and compare them with some of the other promoters who operate in the area along with the facilities and detail they go to at their venues..
If you have attended ever personally attended their events you would realise it is not a joke!!!
Whilst I don't know the full details I have been to The Box several times and other venues operated by the promoters
One thing is certain they are not in it for the profit and they are passionate about the venues they run and are out n about as punters every weekend

Does anyone actually know who the DJs apart from Wayne Hemmingway are at the Nighter
I was talking to a guy who should have been there along with his wife as DJs and he said it was doubtful if they would be taking part
At least one other DJ has withdrawn through illness and no one appears to know who the DJs are or what the music policy is
Lauren the girl with the Afro is not one of the folks you describe although she is involved in the forthcoming film
She was attending Northern Soul venues before getting involved in the film and is often seen at venues across the country
Brutus are listed as a sponsor for the Alldayer taking place at WYS tomorrow
The Cavern Pub is owned by a mate who went Casino Nighters/Sams etc with us and you will hear the music played there
Peters Brother Carl also owns NQ Live and Alter Ego the last and current home of The Wheel
The young girl with the Afro Lauren was interviewed on BBC Radio Manchester this morning and was in the feature on BBC 1 NW news last night
Her Dad Mick is well known having started on the scene in the 70s
It looks like the video was taken at a Allnighter WYS run at Bolton which was very succesfull
I know a lot of them wear Brutus shirts no doubt as a result of the video ad campaign
I havn't a clue what the workshops are about
The older Guy Roy Stewart has been around a long time and is always out n about
The festival is on in Manchester now..I am not sure if there is a dance off with Morris Dancers, howeve there are various forms of dancing involved
Someone mentioned Arty Farty types earlier and they could be right as there is a Allnighter there on Sat 3rd of May and Wayne Hemmingway is heading it
Check the Nighter on the link

Here's a link to the BBC NW News feature on the Un Rest festival
It starts around 19.40 and is over in a few minutes.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b041d0lx/north-west-tonight-23042014
There will be a discussion about Northern Soul on BBC Radio Manchester this morning, some time between 7.40am and 8.20am
https://www.bbc.co.uk/radiomanchester
Hope your all watching BBC1..
A feature on Northwest News about Northern Soul coming to Manchester is coming on soon
Lets keep the debate honest and no personal attacks after
That's a fair enough point..I admit looking at the video there was a lot who attended so that they could say "They Attended The last Session"
To be honest the final few Months at Whitworth Street where mayhem
Although we had passes for the final session we decided to stay away as it was well known it would be impossible to have a dance
