  2. Probably the one Paul (the original poster bought) good price indeed
  3. To true Julie Must admit I have never paid "silly money" for a record Most I EVER paid was £100 and that was 20 odd years ago Like you and dave, I picked things up when the going was good, but I never bought into the "big record" thing Loads of great records out there without spending a fortune Jim
  4. Hi Kevin Sorry yes you are right outcast was Eddie & ernie Got me thinking though - We're they the same people? Jim
  5. Fair point mark, I wouldn't have thought it was that in demand, but £300 it is then if that's the consensus! Best of luck with the sale Paul jim
  6. Agree Julie Awesome record, most of there stuff is Outcast is also a great little cheapie - is the such a thing as a cheapie these days??? Jim
  7. You are right mark, but it is true!! Jim
  8. Personally I think it's a great record, but not in demand There were loads around way back In my opinion not worth 3 figures, and anyone who pays £300 needs a good talking to!!!!
  9. Tend to agree with phillyDaveG I managed to pick up the LP sealed from the US about 25 years ago from a set sale in Goldmine magazine Don't remember the price, but only a few dollars as it wasn't really known I bought it as I already had the single and thought it may be good to have the album From memory, the wasn't really anything on the LP that was as good as the single, and I can't really remember there being many good ballads either - I may be wrong though When I sold my collection I got what was fair money for each At the time What I would say though is that it is without doubt a rare album, having only ever seen my copy and my mates from Dundee (which I'm sure he still has) Jim
  10. Hey Harry Great to hear from you mate and hope you are well? Yes great days indeed - the best in fact Yes Allanton had many little areas where the world was put to right - amongst other things that went on! All the best Harry Jim
  11. Great idea chalky - great to look back to your youth I used to have all my black echoes all the way back to late 70's, but ended up binning them Glad I kept the stuff from Allanton though Best Jim
  12. Hi chalky Will dig out the flyers when I get a chance mate Best Jim

  14. And ..... Merely a response to your " in your opinion jim" End of thread Cheers barry Jim
  15. It is indeed Barry But there is also some fact - the record isn't rare! Jim
  16. As a collector of all types of soul over the years and having had many rare 70's stuff and sold them to fund other projects, why anyone would want to pay anywhere near £100 is beyond me Bileo is not a rare record, and whilst it is part of modern soul history and background, in my opinion it's not particularly soulful There are many many records out there at a fraction of the price that are streets ahead of this Only my opinion of course Jim
  17. Nice one chalky I still have all of these somewhere And even still have the flag in my garage - Never even been washed since the day I bought it for the first nighter All the best Jim
  18. Hi des Thanks for the comments mate and so glad it influenced you on your musical taste I think many others who attended would probably say the same Allanton was not about rarity or value, it was purely about quality records, whatever the price All the best Jim
  19. Hi Julie Hope you and dave are well and great to hear from you Jim
  20. Andy All I can say is that if you were cold you weren't dancing enough!!!!

  23. The after event workforce through thick and thin were - Kerso Wee Davie Mitchell JG (John Carr) Me (obviously) Some other friends like John Warrington & Linda, Roz & John sharp etc. All of the above helped with the coffee bar, cleaning up etc. and believe me I will always be in debt to them (song in there somewhere), as without their help, it would never have worked - they were great friends who really helped me alot Others did muck in at times, Neil, Tina, Etc., but I don't think I ever seen mr Whitmore with a sweeping brush??? Anyway thanks to all that helped, it would not have happened without you As for a reunion Byrney ??? Best Jim
