Morning spent ironing, neighbours on holiday so up with the volume, some recent purchases ,some old stuff and a couple of oddballs, Jimmy Ruffin Everybody Needs Love Diana Ross How About You Undisputed Truth You Plus Me Undisputed Truth You Got The Lovelites My Conscience Harold Burrage Got to Find a Way Ketty Lester River Of Salt Jimmy Helms Your Past Is Beginning to Show E Jackie Hines I'm So Glad Gladys Knight Friendship Train The Natura'elles Show Me The Way Timi Yuro Ain't Gonna Cry No More Spyder Turner You're Good Enough For Me Tom Jones Stop Breaking My Heart Matt Bianco Matts Mood I'll put my hard hat on for this one, last and definitely least one I've had some fun with when mates call round having them guess who they think it is, I'm led to believe and I don't know how true this is that there has been discussions on Facebook as to whether it actually is them or some Philadelphia sessions musicians, the same person told me it actually got played somewhere long the line how true that is again I have not the faintest though I doubt it though I'm sure someone on here will know, it's not something I play, only bought it out of curiosity after he told me seeing it in a charity shop for 25p, bang goes my credibility, only posting it for the novelty value The Glitter Band Makes You Blind

Last word from me on Cilla, the one I heard was Baby It's You, won't post a link before we are reminded this is a soul music forum, I had a conversation with a Dj mate on NYE regarding the playing of white British pop, Petula Clark was brought up which has been discussed elsewhere, it's not what I'd choose to hear played at an event but people do dance to it and accept it so live and let live, funny thing for me some I know accept Pet but would look aghast if Josh Hoyer were played. The wonderful world of Northern Soul, I was accused of being part of the Soul Police on the same night for expressing an opinion. (Petula is in my 60's collection along with a couple more of hers, I remember vividly being fascinated as a kid when she sang in French, maybe she stirred my later passion for French cinema).

Turns out I have the Cilla Black and it wasn't the one I heard last year, that one was listed on YouTube as Popcorn, started buying records I remember enjoying as a kid before Soul Music took a hold, having older brothers and a sister I was much influenced by them, used to watch all the variety shows with my Mum, funny how some of the artists I enjoyed kind of paved the way for my future love of soul. After hearing Gloria Lynne Tower of Strength at last nights event and playing Cilla I had to give Frankie Vaughan's version a spin. Pic is some of my 60's collection which thankfully come far far cheaper than the Northern stuff

The sight that greeted me as I opened the curtains yesterday morning, had to use my phone , living here for over thirty years I've learnt conditions change very quickly, two minutes later the sky colour had changed and the birds were gone, the sky was actually a deeper more striking red

Same here with other people's posts, always a source of tunes new to me. Nothing rare or expensive on my list, after listening almost exclusively to tunes purchased in the last year thought I'd play a few long time favourites that more or less chart my taste from being at school. I've bought everything over the years spanning all genres of our great music. Hope you foynd a tune you like.

What's the most records you've ploughed through?
Most I've ever gone through would be in Athens last year, for anyone who hasn't been there's a market and a street full of second hand but mostly junk shops, 99%of the records in piles with no sleeves I would guess ex juke box, hope was fed by finding several import red and black atlantics , a couple of Joe Tex on I think Greek Mercury all in shocking condition, a decent Greek release of Groovin with Mr Bloe which I regret not paying three euros for no other reason than the label but you know what it's like there might just be that hidden nugget so waded through piles and piles of dusty unloved 45's. We went in one second hand shop of the tourist trail , three Paul Anka ep's , couldn't work out the titles so left 'em, came on here on our return to see a post mentioning a Paul Anka track only available on a foreign ep, think it was Spanish, didn't go with any expectation of finding any records at all and was pleasantly surprised though ultimately disappointed.

A bit strange on ebay
I'm no expert on Ebay but probably a stock photo copied from Discogs, neither of them say the photo is of the actual record for sale, or one may have copied the other one off Ebay itself, quite lazy whichever way just as easy to copy a decent picture you'd think. I'm more bemused by the prices the guy gets for his what I guess are white label carvers. As has been said many times on here crazy things happen on Ebay and their self policing leaves a lot to be desired. What does annoy me is people putting up for auction brand new releases, by that I mean releases on Kent etc that are still readily available from any recognised dealer, trying to filter these out on a search is nigh impossible.

I really wish they had been at least the hotel would have had one nights entertainment in an area offering very little to do at night, on the positive side it has made me take more seriously the chances of it happening next year when we go on a small group tour of Kerala in India, prior to this I have taken it very lightly joking " I'll eat anything so I'm bound to get the trots" doesn't sound half as funny now. Yes the statue was brilliant, they had another sculpture which I think they possibly light up at night that looked like it had what may have been steam rising through it, didn't look much during the day sadly after walking all day we didn't feel up to the walk through a building site to the marina at night.

Mine too, managed to grab a cheap one relative to Discogs prices, followed your advice re profit on the record I sold, bought a few re issues but mostly new stuff and originals, it's been a steep learning curve buying again.

Most valuable soul CDs
My mate has the Canadian issue which he got from Sam himself when he was interviewed on the Ray Rose show on Marcher. Apparently Sam's wife had brought several copies over in her handbag.
