A few weeks ago we had a great tread about TK. The south has had a number of great studio's over the years, some still operating to this very day. Rick Hall, still works out of Fame Studio's in Muscle Shoals and Malaco can still be found turning out stuff in Jackson. So let's behaving fav tunes from some of these southern power house studio's, any stories anyone may have, pictures etc Ecko Studio's-Memphis Famous Water Tower Muscle Shoals Otis Redding and Rick Hall

Hi John Memory is getting poor these days, but I'm sure there was a green bootleg but with one of those nasty paper lables with lots of bubbles under the label. Bit like one of the east coast pressing plants ? Hows the King Of Soul Dave

Got A Lead To Someone Major
HI Pete As others have said, just tell them the truth, that you do this as a business, that you are interested in any records they may have and any stuff on tape. Tell them you will pay them a fair price in cash. It can only go two ways, so no harm asking Dave

70's Motown Day
All the above Jobete tracks I have uploaded come from a triple pack LP put out by Jobete to promote thier material. It is a prized piece with Motown collectors and sells at between £150-£400. It was one of series put out, the others were by writers ie HDH, Norman Whitfield etc. These are a little easier to find, but mainly cover well know titles. A version of Wali Ali track came out by Eddie Kendricks on Atlantic, but is more disco. Don't think any versions of the other tracks came out.

The Soulful Mr Sam Dees
I have asked this before, But many years ago he appeared at Newbury. One of the events Russ did there. For some strange reason, I was asked late in the evening to interview him on film. It's fair to say I had a bit to drink, don't remeber much about the interview. But would love to see. Anyone know anything about this, Russ?? Dave

Fab Friday... For Pete Lawson
Pete was a one-off, but in many way he spoke for the everyman soul fan. One of Staffords biggest supporters, always out spoken, always with a strong opinion. In many of his heart wrenching letters he spoke of wanting to 'make a change', he didn't make it. But he left a mark, that many could only wish for. Always missed and always loved. Here's to you mate Make a change - johnny rogers - amon
