  1. Can we finally dust our broom with this one?
  2. I've worked out the connotations for "shake a tail feather" and "out looking for sugar", but "back to the drawing board" has got me stumped.
  3. CUFC. Carlisle United, founded in 1904. Cambridge United, founded as Abbey United in 1912, renamed in 1951. Colchester United founded in 1937. Cumbriaaaans!
  4. My mother and aunty took part in jive marathons in their late teens / early twenties. Took place at the Drill Hall in town. On one occasion they set a world record (made it into the Guinness Book of Records) of forty hours. They danced to a live band, and once they made it into Sunday morning, they had to carry on dancing to a drumbeat only because of the music licencing laws. When I looked it up on the internet I was amazed to discover the date (April 1960), which meant my mother would have been two and a half months pregnant with me.
  5. I'll wait for the pressing.
  6. Have to agree with the Sydney Barnes track, and Clarence Carter Messin With My Mind does my head in (no pun intended).
  7. No, I think they've all had a release on Motown or its subsidiaries. Does come with a free download code for mp3 versions of all the songs, which is handy.

  15. Don't know about soulie, but I found this one in the Urban Dictionary... soulgasm –noun, verb ˈsÅl-ga-zÉ™m 1 : a moment of pure spiritual ecstasy; in which, an artful piece of life touches and moves the very core of your being, forcing you to close your eyes, gape slightly and lose yourself in its beauty, and as you do, a delightful tingling sensation flourishes from the back of your head and travels down your neck to ravish the entirety of your flesh.
  16. Don't need it with the live version on here.
  17. It's just come back from the dry cleaners?

  21. I wouldn't be surprised to hear the Bhangra remix of "Love's Gone Bad" in my local curry house.
  22. Know a couple of mechanics from Preston, the Deepdale Spanners.
  23. Won't be posting any more of the Old Grey Wolf remixes. Don't want to showcase too much of this guy's undeniable talent.
  24. Particularly liked the "Remixer's" response to an admirer on You Tube....."Glad you liked it, I try to keep these remixes subtle and as close to the original as possible." https://youtu.be/4XmbWUd4ifA
