I was a regular at Whitworth St from 1966-70. I've found a few photos on Facebook from back in the day - first two were taken in the upstairs coffee bar - next two in the room where the DJ's cage was & the last one in the stage room where the bands played. Have to say I've scanned these pics so many times looking for familiar faces! Hope the pics help to refresh your memory Chris!

Hi all - Kath here with a bit of feedback from last night at The Harold Club. We knew we were in for a busy night cos of the ticket sales - we already had around 40 people in before we officially opened the doors at 8pm & the atmosphere was buzzing from the get-go! A few people had tickets reserved on the door but didn't make it to join us, but we also had quite a few turned up just "on spec" so we ended up with a full house anyway! A lot of our regulars had also brought along family members & we had a much more mixed crowd than usual, so it wasn't the right time for the DJs to concentrate solely on playing their normal mix of R&B & rarer tunes. They decided to throw a few classics & more well-known atb soul into the mix too - a bit of "something for everyone" so to speak. Most of the feedback that we've had was very positive & pretty much everyone said they'd had a great night. Next month Soul Brew will be back to spinning their usual mix of rarer soul, R&B & floorfillers that always go down well with all our regulars. As always - thanks & well done to all the DJs - thanks too to the hard-working bar staff who were rushed off their feet from the word go! Last but by no means least, thanks to everyone who came to support us last night - Happy New Year to all & hope to see you at our next event at The Harold on Friday 17th January, when our guest DJ will be Joe Burnside.

There's a top-notch dance floor with absolutely no need at all for talc; bar prices at WMC rates; large car park & good transport links. It's situated on the main road, with easy access from Chain Bar Roundabout, regular busses from Bradford, Brighouse, Leeds & Huddersfield & it's also close to Low Moor train station. There's even a nice hotel (The Guide Post) less than 10 mins walk away for those who fancy making a weekend of it! Our First Thursday of the month events at Jeremy's have got off to a flying start! SoulBrew resident DJs Stuart Eastwood and Steve Yendley spinning Motown, Northern, R&B and club classics on vinyl. Jeremy’s is a short walk from Brighouse railway station. And why not grab a bite to eat - look out for food promos on the day.. Fantastic friendly venue, wooden dancefloor and plenty of parking. Best of all it's FREE ENTRY!

I've reported scammers to Facebook too (not records - offering tickets for sale & very obviously scammers) but profiles weren't removed - Facebook happy with the post & not breaching rules etc😠 Not much else we can do is there? Just try to warn people & hope they don't fall for it.

Thanks to everyone who came to The Harold Club for SoulBrew’s soul night- fantastic night with a real focus on oldies and stompers which kept the dancefloor buzzing all night. A massive shout out to Steve Sowerbutts who spun a cracking set- and donated his fee to Prostate Cancer UK. The total raised on the night was a brilliant £112.62. Thank you to everyone that came and supported and for your generosity. Very much appreciated. #thesouliegrail #souliegrail And remember our Boxing night tickets - only £6 in advance. Grab them at our next gigs at Jeremy's at the Boat House on Thursday 4 and Sunday 8 December. Steve Sowerbutts - our favourite guest DJ - will be donating his fee for tonight to his charity fundraiser for prostate cancer & I will be rattling a bucket on the door for donations too.
