Soul Brew at The Harold Club
Hi all - Kath here with a bit of feedback from last night at The Harold Club. It was bloody FAB - we had around 20 people in before we'd even opened the doors, so we knew we were in for a busy night!! The atmosphere was great from the get-go & it was really good to see so many of the old regular faces back at The Harold. Thanks & well-done to Soul Brew Djs Marc, Steve, Stuart & Carl, plus guest Dj Chris Wormald - you nailed it guys! That dance floor was busy all night. ๐ ๐ Thanks too to both Marc Wilby & Tanya Wormald for taking pics of the night. I've found a few bits of nice feedback today, so here goes: - "Harold club soul night great night lovely see some old friends." "lovely to see this soul club back on the map and have a chance to catch up with some old friends we canโt wait to come back" "All having a great time dancing to the music " "a great crowd at The Harold" "we had a fab night .. was lovely to see everyone x" "A most delightful night!" "I'm really happy that Harold club is back on Great djs fantastic tunes n floor fillers. Friendly people n really nice floor n parking" Last but by no means least - thanks to all who came to support Soul Brew last night. Let's do it all again next month when our guest Dj will be none other than Lawrence Grimshaw. PS - Chris - the Harold Club steward - is so pleased with how things are going with Soul Brew that he was really keen to book us in for next year! So.......we are now in the Harold diary for every 3rd Friday right up until Boxing Night 2025!

Movies and Tv
I'm halfway through it & had pretty much the same thoughts - police incompetence etc. I reckon a bit of dramatic license makes for a more dramatic story-line - bit like some of the British press! Gripping series & well worth watching none the less. Have to say I do like to watch the French programmes - not only are they usually very good, they also help me to keep up with my French! Also just watched The Hunt for Raoul Moat (old series that was repeated very recently) Well worth another watch - it's easy to forget just how horrific it all was for those involved & also for the residents of the area.

Compared To What - Guy Hennigan ?

Movies and Tv
I think The Game (Cold War spy thriller set in the 1970s) on BBC Iplayer is well worth a watch. I've found quite a few decent dramas on there recently. ๐

Is anyone watching Sherwood on BBC 1? It gets a big thumbs up from me - I do like my gritty dramas! ๐

Wrong Words
One of my friends back in the 1960s used to sing along - voice at full volume - to The Beatles Day Tripper. She was convinced the lyrics were "She's a big Jesus.." & not "She's a big teaser..." So embarrassed when she found out the correct words when she was young but laughs about it now.๐คฃ๐คฃ

Dwindling wildlife...............
I normally see plenty of swallows, swifts & house martins every year swooping over the fields where I walk my dog - some just passing through heading north on migration & others decide to spend the summer here. This year we've had a few swallows passing through - none seem to have stayed & not seen any swifts or house martins at all....๐ข

Soul Brew at The Harold Club
Well - what can I say - we had another storming night at The Harold Club! I knew from all the comments that I'd seen on Facebook during the week that we were in for a busy night & my gut feelings were proved right - we almost had a full house again! I got there at about 7.30 - a full 30 minutes before we officially opened the doors at 8pm - & I found quite a few people already in & enjoying the music! Everyone seemed to have a really good night & we got plenty of great feedback from around the room. Thanks & well done to all the DJs for spinning the tunes & keeping the dance floor busy - you nailed it guys. Hats off to the hard-working bar staff - they were rushed off their feet, but most of all - thanks to all those who came to support us last night - we couldn't do it without you. โค๏ธ Here's a bit of feedback that Soul Brew DJ Marc Silverside posted on Facebook today:- "Another night at the The Harold Club - fantastic turnout, great moves on the dance floor.. awesome to see everyone enjoying themselves. Great pics by Chris Hill A big thank you to Stephen Crawshaw who smashed his set ! Thanks for coming along- we massively appreciate your support. More gigs lined up at the Harold Club every third Friday - next Friday soul night 20 Sept." Once again - thanks for joining us - thanks for dancing - let's do it all again next month when our guest Dl be Chris Wormald. ๐ ๐บ ๐ ๐บ ๐ ๐บ๐ ๐บ
