  1. Yeh that's what he meant up and coming.🤔
  2. On Manships last auction he credited Gene Anderson a Simon Ingham play at Keele but surprisingly thought he was a young DJ. I reckon Mr Manship needs his eyes testing . 😂 Great record though.
  3. Mick, I know somebody who thought they'd mixed Fortnum & Mason & Marks & Spencer for their record sales. She thought I was joking when I informed her that was their real names.
  4. Thanks Mike for that, I'd forgotten how packed those Rarest of the rare allnighters were.
  5. When you say older individuals or as Labours new tax adviser calls us Old Codgers. I think you'll find that some are collecting rarer records from their younger days that weren't readily available at the time. I thought a young dj like yourself would be out trying to find your own next big future rarity and leave all of the over priced oldies to the generation that grew up with them
  6. I always want England and Scotland to do well. And my Scottish friends always want England's opponents to do well. 😉
  7. I believe there's quite a lot of acetates reside in that particular area of Stoke.😂 A wonderful record and I'm told a UK copy now resides in a particular area of Stockport.😀
  8. Dave the guitar break in the middle and wearing a Beach Boys "Pet Sounds" badge in the video doesn't do it any favours, if your aim is to write a Northern Soul song.
  9. I'm told this has been causing dancefloor mayhem in the Culcheth modern room.
  10. Baz Is the brilliant Dolly Gilmore "Sweet Sweet Baby" still lurking in your playbox or has it been pushed out by your latest purchases.😜
  11. I was at Burscough a few years ago the night Man Oh Man cleared the dancefloor, tumbleweed the lot, so Martin you could be right, however M O M is still in my top ten of all time.
  12. It says it's due for release on 31st May?
  13. Thanks Mal, I totally missed that. I've just ordered a copy, the flips not to shabby either.
  14. Is the Harold Burrage "Mountain of soul" previously unreleased. It's not something that springs to mind but I think it's great.
  15. I think Kev Roberts has played one or two of the unreleased tracks on his Radio show.
  16. Well spotted!
  17. What are you going on about, this is the 7th one.
  18. I think he's promoting a gig that has Bettye Lavette & Connie Laverne on plus a Q&A with Sidney Barnes. From what I can gather from the poster Charly records is one of the sponsors with 2 compilation albums to promote and she's filling in a couple of hours on a Saturday afternoon as one of Charly Records guests. I know in the past if there's been a Spurs football match on then that would have been shown on a big screen instead.
  19. Mike, I've only ever dealt with Anglo American and if something was sold for £1000 you would get £850.
  20. Manship is 20% off the winning bid, Anglo American is 15% off
  21. I'd have said nearer to Dixon of Dock Green than Starsky & Hutch
  22. My god Rod that's unbelievable. You actually got Alex to a Dusties do.🤣
  23. Do you think the human pyramid will be making a comeback anytime soon. I hope so cos that would be awesome.
  24. Rob, did you never pop into the modern room at Prestwich whenever The Sunburst Band "Everyday" was played. I haven't seen the Blackpool footage, but I would imagine a similar dance routine to the Prestwich one, but on a much grander scale. I don't think anyone made a big fuss about it at the time.
  25. Would I be correct in thinking Willie Tee's "Take your time" track from the I'm only a man LP is also on a single. Not the Gatur boot but a proper 7"
