  1. Seems to be more and more records listed these days with that old 'rare soul 45' title that are so lacking in any soulful content that they are frankly in breach of the 'trades descriptions act' ... Yes we all tire of the same old , same old and are always wanting to hear something fresh and a little different , but when it comes in the form of some dreadful white 50's housewife doing a Doris Day impression then what in god's name do sellers hope to gain by describing something as a "Rare Soul 45" ... ??? Please for the love of doG stop trying to pass this sh*te off as soul music , it ain't soulful and never will be , even as an April's Fool gag this latest one would fall flat on it's face ... Mini-rant over , time for a coffee methinks ...
  2. Also on the flip of TCHULA 808.
  3. And a great up to date version ...
  4. "Proper dancing" is between you and the music and nothing else , if you're busy concerning yourself with what everyone else is doing then you've not been transported into that magical impenetrable bubble that the tune creates for you ...
  5. And sadly another great musician leaves us ... https://www.theguardian.com/music/2016/nov/16/mose-allison-dies-aged-89-jazz-blues-musician
  6. Just beware of the "wigs 'n' wheelchairs" record stall ...
  7. Sorry Ady , I wish more folk would make use of the 'smiley' selection now and again when trying to be clever or tongue in cheek , saves the rest of us thinking they're just being arse'oles ...
  8. Firstly ... the name is Croasdell ... ! Secondly ... Ady told you it would be out on a legit Chess box set yet you jumped in and bought the bootleg anyway , how the f*ck does that equate to someone 'playing you' ... ???
  9. If you can wait until this time next year Mr Manship's .... " new "COLLECTING NORTHERN SOUL" book, which will provide exacting matrix markings and label scans for all counterfeits, re-issues of Northern Soul 45s and albums." will be available ...
  10. There's a red "Legend" repro too with the ZTSC matrix that used the same plates as the styrene Case of Tyme issue ...
  11. No , the "A" on the boot is black ...
  12. Good to see it nipped in the bud ...
  13. The Search function will throw up plenty of previous threads on the subject , all worth reading before letting yet another one get out of hand over nit-picking details ...
  14. Even the "cheapo" ain't so cheap these days , I'll be hanging on to mine for a while yet ...
  15. Printing looks a bit suspect to me , think it's the boot , has it a scratched or stamped matrix ... ?
  16. Exactly ...
  17. That's for a mint copy , might get a rough one for less , all you need to do is find one.
  18. Probably over £3000 now , easy answer is find one for sale and the vendor will tell you what it's worth ...
  19. That's got to be a recent bootleg ... lol Best I could find was the 70's re-issue ...
  20. Because they are most likely shite bootlegs made by folk who don't give a f**k ...
  21. Just found an old Sunset Radio show tape from 1991-ish (judging from the news) with Messers Searling , Roberts and Brown chatting about the collecting scene back then . Includes Tim's then top 20 most expensive 45's , seems a far cry from today when a grand for a record is commonplace ...
  22. See the post from dedji1955 further up regarding getting to see it now.
  23. The Google link's been deleted now by others so it wouldn't now be visible anyway , can't see what all the fuss was about really storm in a teacup ...
