  1. Is Gladys Knight & the Pips - just walk in my shoes (Soul) on the vertical stripe or purple swirl? Many thanks Mark
  2. Northern wise Chris Kings run of first time northern material with Snake Davis band with Popcorn Wylie and Eddie Holman. Both at Hinckley along with Junior Walker and Edwin Starr also at Hinckley were great too. Also a one off with Bunny Sigler/The Passadenas /Gwen Mcrae all on the same night at Peterborough Wirrina 1986ish. I saw plenty of great non northern acts in the early mid 80s. Gerald Alston / David peaston/PhylissHyman/Roy Ayers/Will Downing. Most at Hammersmith. Recently Nick Waterhouse.
  3. I went to Vegas and had lunch at The Cosmopolitan Wicked Spoon, where they played an hour of Northern that included Magic Touch and Soul City -Everybody Dance as well as a host of others. Have no idea why maybe a northern chef in the kitchens?
  4. What is the difference between a 1966 promo and a 1974 promo. I may sell a copy and want to get my facts straight but dont know which copy I have. Many thanks
  5. I know of Nate Calhoun ‎– Funktown / Have Some Of Me but not I know better
  6. Always liked the cola advert clip from Gladys and did not realise it was done as a complete tune. Nate Calhoun ‎– Jazz-Freak / Paulette Reaves – Jazz Freak
  7. This Love I've Got - Martha & The Vandellas featured on latest Ace records Motown comp sounds like the Funk Bros instrumental from the dodgy unreleased motown cd comps from the late 90s. From sound clip sounds all nighter worthy.
  8. Not many uptempo tracks but awesome retro soul doo wop Gospel inspired album. Can anyone recommend other 2019 retro soul albums otherthan Nick Waterhouse (Excellent), Charlton Smith and Alexis Evans

  15. NOT SO LONG BACK I WAS 50 AND I BOUGHT MOTOWN 7S BOXSET VOL 1 THE OTHERS ARE OK BUT I BLEW THE REST OF MY BIRTHDAY BUDGET ON SOME MADE LPS SEE ATTACHED PICS. BUYING CDS JUST FOR THE ONE TRACK AND SELLING THEM ON AND INCLUDING DIGITAL ONLY TRACKS THAT WERE NOT AVAILABLE ON VINYL AT THE TIME. MY INSPIRATION HAS BEEN THE ORIGINAL MOTOWN DISCO CLASSICS SERIES, THAT OFTEN INCLUDED LP ONLY TRACKS.
  16. Available via Microsoft store
