THE SOUL EVENT OF THE SEASON. CONTINUING THE ANNUAL TRADITION, THE MUCH LOVED GOODYEARS CHARITY SOUL EVENT RETURNS ON SATURDAY 27th DECEMBER 2025. A truly special night - what a way to end the year! 14 DJ's delivering the spectacular Sound of Soul giving their time freely to entertain you for over 6 hours. This year's recipients are two charities providing vital services in & around the Black Country & West Midlands - HAPPY STAFFIE RESCUE (HSR) & WOLVERHAMPTON CORONARY AFTERCARE SUPPORT GROUP (WCASG). Some brief details about both organizations: Happy Staffie Rescue is a registered charity in England & Wales (no. 1132578), founded in 2009 and based in Kidderminster, Worcestershire but rescuing dogs throughout the country. We take in stray dogs, and dogs from private homes where the owners can no longer look after them. We care for them until we can find them loving new homes at our small rehoming centre in Kidderminster. Donations to Happy Staffie Rescue are used to support our welfare work which includes running our rehoming centre, providing a good quality balanced diet to all the dogs, treats, toys and as much kennel enrichment as possible. All dogs have a vet check, and if they need treatments or surgeries we will undertake these prior to adoption. The charity also fundraises through four charity shops in Worcestershire, a monthly standing order Supporter’s Club and attendance at various fundraising events through the year. We also undertake a large Family Fun Day and Dog Show on the last Sunday of every August. More information about the charity can be found on our website at www.happystaffie.co.uk WCASG (Registered Charity No. 701667) provides support to coronary patients and their carers. It was formed by ex-patients of the Coronary Care Unit of New Cross Hospital in 1985. The group works within the City of Wolverhampton and surrounding districts, being the catchment area of the Heart and Lung Centre, based at New Cross Hospital in Wolverhampton. Over the years, we have raised in excess of two million pounds to fund a range of vital life saving equipment, staff salaries, funding research, services for patients and providing long term exercise classes. The aim of our group is to support patients who have suffered any form of cardiovascular disease (CVD) with ongoing education and rehabilitation. Our priority is the delivery of long term exercise classes that we provide though Have a Heart Wolverhampton. These classes provide patients with the opportunity to continue with supervised exercise following the completion of their hospital rehab. In addition to the amount raised via admission, a raffle will take place with some magnificent prizes including hampers, various wines, spirits & beers, beauty products, vinyl records, cuddly toys plus much more. Prize donations for the raffle will be gratefully accepted on the night, but if there is anything of importance or high value, please contact us prior as we may be able to auction items with bids before the event. The wonderful organizations that are HSR & WCASG are charities which are used by many in need, as some of our patrons will testify. Hence, with HSR & WCASG staff in attendance on the night, all monies raised will be given directly to them. Soul Music, End of Year, Magnificent Causes, Wonderful People – how can you miss it? Sublime & scintillating in equal measure, Len covers all the aspects of the music in his selections, while Julie recalls the halcyon days of the Soul Scene's heritage thus delivering a perfect blend for Christmas festivities.
