It took m a couple of years to get this record. While I was looking for it I heard that Butch had some copies, but when I asked him they where all gone....to funk collectors cos of the "Mini skirt" side, so it might be the reason? I didn't know it was reissued (bootlegged?), but if you asked me, it's the "Greatest dept to my mother" which is THE tune and thats worth a reissue.- Gil Scott Heron - Willing
Thanks Malc- Gil Scott Heron - Willing
I guess that no answers means that this needs to be posted on the "rare lP tracks" Awesome tune that should have had a 7" release.- New - Myron And E - "it's A Shame"
Played my copy (acetate) on our last soul night and the crowd was really loving it!- Barbara Acklin - Am I The Same Girl
THE TERRIBLE FRANKIE NIEVES -- Gil Scott Heron - Willing
Does this exist on a 7"- Barbara Mason - You Better Stop It And Others

Agree with that, sounds not good. Need to hear it out, maybe a trip to Berlin in the future KEITH CURTIS -- New Soul/funk
Good choises. Remember Joss stone, she was really big around the world, I even got a 7" of her BUT, where is she now? Lemar I don't know. John Legend, IMO he was ok, but I can't remember any "big" tunes from him? Remember that he palyed in Oslo a copuple of times (allways sold out), but that was that, or?- New Soul/funk
- New Soul/funk
There has been a lot of new bands/artists over the last decade that has released soul/funk on 45s which I think is because they want a special kind of scene/people to buy it. Some of it is good and some of it is not so good. And there is so much going on these days that you might not get it all. The last I've heard is a UK artist called Gizelle Smith which is quite good. So, i would love some good recommendations, or maybe a list of your favourites? By that I mean so good that you will play it out, or at least buy it! Some of mine: Kings go forth Sharon Jones (most of the daptone stuff as well!) Nicole Willis and the Soul investigators- Harlem Shuffle, How Many Versions?
Thanks, i was Brett who played it to me in August when he was in Oslo...- Harlem Shuffle, How Many Versions?
Thanks mate! WHO can sell me a copy of this, need it- Harlem Shuffle, How Many Versions?
Anyone got a sound clip? I heard a great instrumental version with organ last summer, but I can't remember the artist- Bobby Long & The Dealers On Old Town
Somebody buy this, AWESOME x-over- Harlem Shuffle, How Many Versions?
"AVENUE BAND" - HARLEM SHUFFLE -- Harlem Shuffle, How Many Versions?
One of my favourites from my mod days in early 80s. Just found a couple of this version on a 7" EP. I do believe this is a record company who made lot's of cheap, and mostly bad versions of all kind of music, cos there was a lot of these records there with rock, pop, reggae and country. But the Harlem shuffle is quite good IMO, good vocals and backing. No artist name, anyone who knows this? - Soul Shakers, Henry Brooks, Versatiles, Appreciations
