  5. Les Cokell did some spots. Unfortunately he is no longer with us.
  6. Couple of nice stories about Carl. I was djing at Stubshaw the spot after after him and Maria. Chatting before our spots he casually asked me what I was thinking of playing. I foolishly mentioned around six tunes. He proceeded to play all of them before me whilst smiling sweetly at me. I was laughing my head off. Another time I was on before them and Carl came on and said "thanks to Julian for the last hour, you've heard the rare, now you're going to hear the very rare". We both laughed the night away. RIP Carl and condolences to Maria and family.
  7. Off topic as well. I went to the Wheel with the Leeds and Huddersfield crowd + Les Cokell, John Bollen, Frannie O'Brien, Jimmy Lightbrown etc. First met Ian Levine on the night he first visited. Dj'd at Lord Jims 1969 - 72 ( carrying on the Wheel tunes, Dave Godin attended and mentioned in B&S + Graham White AKA Docker came with a copy of the Sharpees Do the 45 when it was seriously rare and indemand)) + Hernies Allnighters and other Yorkshire nights ( can't honestly remember but Normie Baths, a do in Selby, Leeds Central all ring a bell in my dim and distant memory inc a birthday do Barnsley way when the squad raided and closed it down! The rest is history. Happy days.
  8. I play this occasionally as my last 45. I always ask the crowd ' do you remember what you said to your Mum and Dad when you went out on a Saturday night? 😁🤣😂😁😇
  9. I stopped collecting around 74 so I'm thinking I got one from Bradford Market unheard and then went back to get their other copies after playing it at home. I'd stopped DJing at the time so never got to play it out☹
  10. I was told by the buyer that when I sold up around 1985 there were 6 copies of this 45 which I believe was relatively unknown at the time ( I stand to be corrected on this!)
  11. Beatles Ace of Clubs tour 1964 featuring Mary Wells - Bradford Gaumont Rolling Stones 1964 tour 26/9/64 featuring Inez and Charlie Foxx - Bradford Gaumont. Now, the strange thing is, I distinctly remember Inez and Charlie singing 'Tightrope' and being amazed at Charlie doing the tightr5dance across the stage but it wasn't released until 1967. Can anyone shed light on this discrepancy? See photos. Both in great condition for 60 years of age! £75 each plus postage. PayPal F&F or bank transfer please. PM for questions etc. Thanks for looking Julian

  21. Morning, I have posted photos of some 'emidisc' and advance copy stuff on here before and the 'jury' seemed to be out on some of their authenticity. Just got round to cleaning and listening to some of them and came across this ( I attach photos) B side no information but plays with the withdrawn B side You must be love so I'm assuming it's a real withdrawn advance copy. Any thoughts or information about it greatly appreciated. TIA Julian
