Dusty Wilson 45
Marc, I've just done a search on popsike and, blow me down with a feather, you appear to be right! Plenty of gold issues but only a couple of black labels issues.. a lot of copies seem to be only vg condition or less as well...mines a lovely shiney EX condition copy, so looks like this was indeed a vg buy Just out of interest, i've also got another 45 by Dusty Wilson - 'Better than you' on Zebra, which is a nice midtempo detroit thing. Does this one ever get played out?? anyone know the going rate for this 45.. Thanks Jon

Dusty Wilson 45
picked up a black issue copy off ebay 2 months ago for £153, been quite a few copies of this on ebay recently. The gold bronse label issue seems to be rarer than the black one... atb Jon

A Mistake A Mistake, It Was A Big Mistake
i remember searching for ages for Barbara lewis - remember the feeling and Bobby Hebb- you want to change me after seeing the Morecambe pier Gary Crowley documentary on Channel 4.. videoed it and kept replaying it to work out the lyrics of the songs.. was still quite new to the Northern soul scene in those days so was still finding my way a bit with the records.. Ended up buying Sweet Sweet loving - platters and Nothings gonna change me - Dave Blocker (which i rebought again a couple of years ago!).. Managed to get the Barbara Lewis and Bobby Hebb a few months later after talking to a few knowledgable soulies

Most Expensive Lp
Tho title of this Elvis lp stuck in my mind as I always remember seeing this listed in the old issues of record collector mag when it was always listed as the no 1 rarest record.. think the price then was £2k..no idea how many were sold
-
Most Expensive Lp
The Elvis LP was titled "Janis and Elvis" and was a 10" lp released in South Africa in 1958 and withdrawn the day after issue. Originally issued to attempt to recover Janis' royalties, it was released on a Friday & by Saturday afternoon, Colonel Tom had somehow gotten word and called RCA and made Them pull it because 1 - NOBODY performs with Elvis and 2 - It was called 'Janis and Elvis' & not 'Elvis and Janis'!
