  1. Netspeaky, You say "Being buying for years only ever had 2 instances of badly packed record". Well lucky you!!! I too have been collecting for donkey's years and I ALWAYS ask that my records are well packed. And if I know it's a styrene 45 then I point that out and ask for extra special care. But, you guessed it, in one ear and out of the other!!!
  2. Woolie Mark, As far as I am aware, Registered or Recorded Delivery, are of no use if being used to send items of value abroad as the tracking system used to otherwise determine final delivery, ends at the shores of the UK. Pete Smith, According to eBay and PayPal, if the item when it arrives is not as described, then you have a valid claim. Did the seller display the following? See below; When you pay with PayPal for an item covered by PayPal Buyer Protection, you may receive coverage up to $1,000 at no additional cost. To see if an item is covered by PayPal Buyer Protection, look for the following in the "seller information" section of the seller's listing. Transactions Covered by PayPal Buyer Protection PayPal Buyer Protection helps you in the event you do not receive your item or the item is significantly different from its description in the seller's listing. An item is covered by PayPal Buyer Protection if it meets the following eligibility requirements. The "Free PayPal Buyer Protection" message is displayed in the seller listing information. You purchase your item on eBay. You must use PayPal to pay for the item, and use the seller's email address associated with the listing. To make sure of this, use the gray Pay Now button when the eBay listing ends. The seller's eBay listing is for a physical item. Services and intangible items are not covered. You may only file one claim per PayPal payment. You are limited to three PayPal Buyer Protection refunds per calendar year. Claims must be filed within 45 days of the PayPal payment. There may be other requirements that apply to your item. Learn more about PayPal Buyer Protection. How PayPal Buyer Protection and eBay Standard Purchase Protection Program work together For most items not covered by PayPal Buyer Protection, eBay offers a standard purchase protection program which provides coverage up to $200 (less a $25 service fee). Both the eBay and PayPal purchase protection program offer coverage when you pay for an item that you don't receive or when you receive an item that is significantly different from the item that was described in the listing. If you pay with PayPal on listings that are not covered by PayPal Buyer Protection, and file your complaint with PayPal, PayPal will provide the protection outlined by the eBay Standard Purchase Protection Program. Receive full buyer protection with PayPal Buyer Credit When you use PayPal Buyer Credit to pay for merchandise on eBay, your transactions are eligible for full buyer protection at no additional cost. Buyer Protection from PayPal is in addition to any rights you have to dispute charges to your credit line with the credit issuer. You can receive full buyer protection if you pay for an item and never receive it or if you receive an item that you purchased on eBay and it is significantly different from the item that was described in the listing.
  3. This is why some of us collect UK labels. Not exclusively, but whenever possible. Because you NEVER get this problem with UK labels. Some might get re-issued but NEVER booted.
  4. Yeah, I've noticed that a lot lately. Like you said, if you take the time to query it they'll drop their costs. Trouble is, you'll get the odd git who'll send a styrene 45 totally inadequately wrapped on purpose, hoping it will crack in transit, which of course it will. Grrrr.
  5. Couldn't agree with you more Pete. I have raised this point on more than one occasion but it continues. I just argue the case with each individual transaction and quite often get a polite and positive response . . . but not all the time :o( and have cancelled the odd order or two in retaliation. Having said that, I bet I don't deal on the Net as often as your good self. It helps to be calm and patient but even I get frustrated from time to time. Keep it up Pete, I'm certain it will pay dividends. These people need to realise they are nothing without us buyers!!!

Just Ian. Have a good night tonight. Sorry, once again, I can't be there. Only due home next weekend.

I've got his list on me and I've sent him a fax with my email address but I've had nothing back from him yet. Perhaps he's not got an email address at the moment? I MAY come back to you regarding that 'phonecall offer' later on if you don't mind. I can supply his current telephone number. Might even be tomorrow. Will that be okay with you? Will you be 'lurking' on t'internet tomorrow? As for buying something from your Sales box, well, that's down to you. You'll have to drop your prices a fair bit. :o)

Bugger, it bounced back so it's out of date. But thanks for trying Ste, and you ARE very trying!!! Lol. :o) It's Dennis from Liverpool who occasionally nips down to Greatstones when it's on and it coincides with my trips home from Norway. Pal to the likes of John Kelly, Phil Saxe, Les Hare, Phil Scott, etc. Always attacking your Sales box. God only knows why, they're always too expensive for me but I enjoy listening to them in the back room. Not been down for a while, sorry about that but mis-timed trips home and family comes first are contributing factors. Has that put a picture to a name for you now? Or are you always too pissed by the time I get there for you to be able to focus properly? Lol. :o)

Thanks Ste, I have that already but I can't get an outside line here at the office over the weekend and as I'm in Norway, I don't want to be using my mobile, well not at £1 per minute anyhow!!! Do you KNOW who you're 'talking' to here Steve? :o)

. . . his CURRENT webpage address as www.ianclark.com don't work no more. Sorry moderators, I realise this is not a 'Wants' request for a record but it's still a 'Wants' request :o)
  12. Yeah, I thought that too. Having said that, it just went for almost $60 on eBay. Hmmm???
  13. So, consensus of opinion is . . . . . it's a boot? Right? See attachment.
  14. How does that work and what does it cost?
  15. But what's this Ringleaders I've seen on M-Pac 7238?
  16. Did this get a regular release on M-Pac or acetate only? As much info as anybody can supply would be much appreciated.
  17. Hi Ste, You say, "there are collectors who never sell. Please let me know how you continue to collect". But that's what 'collectors' do, they collect stuff. If they sold stuff, they'd be sellers. As opposed to DJs who 'turn over stuff'. When's next Greatstones on?
  18. He said, excluding DJs of course!!! ;o)
  19. I've got an absolutely stone cold mint US MGM Demo of Tony Middleton - To The Ends Of The Earth (in original company sleeve) up for grabs to serious collectors of quality. Sensible offers invited via PM More 45s for sale in due course.
  20. Scales
  21. Gree Sea Phil LA of Soul
  22. Go on, get a load of this. Not mastered the art of attaching soundbytes yet so knowing my luck I've probably failed miserably again :o)
  23. Gotta be 'Heartaches Away My Boy' Christine Cooper. All time CLASSIC!!!
  24. Stop messing about the lot of you . . . . it's got to be BOBBY BLAND!!!
