You mean the spoken intro was definitely not issued on the UK release, right?

Customs Charges From Outside Eu
So I'd have a case if the customs sticker stated both gift and valued at $40?
-
Customs Charges From Outside Eu
Is there truly a minimum figure for a gift after which a customs charge is made? If so, what's that figure? £40?

Customs Charges From Outside Eu
Here's a slant on the above for you. Won a record on ebay for $4.99. P&p was $8. Total $12.99 Stupid tw@t in America put $40 as value on Customs sticker, incurring a £13.4 or $20 fee, including the £8 admin charge. Can't do anything about it according to ebay, except to report the stupid cnut, for which he will be reprimanded by ebay and given a warning not to do it again. That still leaves me $20 / £13.04 shy. Have written to the seller, via ebay and his personal email address. No reply. Oh, and I can't leave him negative feedback because I bought and paid for it back on the 29th November 2012 and it only arrived on 20th February 2013, way past the 60 days I have to leave feedback.

Seriously Rare - Fork In The Road - Uk Ember Stock Copy
Which is what I'm trying to alude to. Perhaps the black labels are issues after all. The silver 'A' indicates the 'plug' side. Just a theory.

Seriously Rare - Fork In The Road - Uk Ember Stock Copy
Perhaps we're all missing the obvious. Maybe the little silver A is there to indicate the 'Plug' side?

Gloria Hill Be Somebody Deep
I do collect American imports Dave. But my first love has always been UK labels. Sent you a PM.

Jane Baker / Earl Connelly / Originals
Hey Jimmy, have you got, know anybody selling, or ever seen "Sing On Baby" by Meg Myles on UK Capitol?

Gloria Hill Be Somebody Deep
Wish it was in mine.

Gloria Hill Be Somebody Deep
It truly is a crackin' record Tony, one I was after a while ago but then forgot about it, what with so many other 'Wants' clouding my view. I'd value it more at £300 ish, never £500. Mr. H snagged a bargain I'd say.

Rarest Uk Sue 45S
So, was it really a UK release then? Or perhaps, a UK pressing for export to Jamaica?
-
Us Gold Label Chess - What Are These All About?
Hi Robb, Do you mean they were reissues released during the early 60s of records originally released earlier? Or they were reissues of records previously released on Chess during the early 60s?

Rarest Uk Sue 45S
Dave, can you post up a scan of the BIG JAY McNEELY ON A RED & BLACK SUE LABEL?

Willy Mcdougal - Don't Turn Away
I thought so too Dave, until I heard it on a podcast on the online Jester Wild Show. It's not been slowed down, or speeded up, just sounds different.

Willy Mcdougal - Don't Turn Away
Are there two different versions of this? Perhaps different labels?

Any info would be useful.

Record Label Sleeve - Anybody Recognise It?
Thanks Derek. I haven't found it on that site yet but I've sent Erl a copy of the scan so he can either tell me he what label it belongs to, or he can put it on his Mystery Sleeves listing.

Spyder Turner - I Can't Make It Anymore - Other Version
No worries Chris, you got back to me eventually, that's all that matters. You also answered my next question, which was going to be how it went from 'i' to 'y'. Thanks, that was interesting.

Where DID it come from?

Record Label Sleeve - Anybody Recognise It?
Or possibly Steinway & Sons?

Record Label Sleeve - Anybody Recognise It?
Could be. But I thought I'd see if anybody out there recognises it?
