i collect em too jimmy ive got lots have never seen the nolan porter but i have got his keep on keepin on,some of my faves marlena shaw lets wade in the water, edwin starr s.o.s,have got darrell banks open the door too,i aslo collect mecca type disco ones to [like the one on the left] dr buzzard, tavares brass construction etc, think ive got everything barry white ever did too on u.s copies, they look great if you do a whole wall of em
  3. i dont think this is aimed at the northern soul scene,i think the marvin gaye track,if it was a single wouldnt be an impossibility to chart, and if in turn that got younger people buying that, then delving back into old motown it wouldnt be a bad thing.
  4. theres a couple of samples on kev roberts goldsoul site, can in say that? lets get it on is great, just my imagination is o.k but best left alone,am interested to hear tom moultons 'stoned love' though, has anyone heard that? somebody did post the lets get it on sample here the other day but i cant find it
  5. peobo bryson-why dont you make up your mind from turn back the hands of time album on capitol just over the border into the 80s, did get plays once, should be big again.
  6. this record was played pre wigan easily 1972 the correct cover up title was 'the end of the world' by explosion
  7. young hearts is a great record,i was lucky to recently find a u.k promo only 12" american disco collectors would kill for this its a shame records like this cant be thrown in here and there on the northern scene, personally id like to see armed and extremely dangerous first choice as the top sound in the country[ the tom moulton long mix of course ]
  8. one of the guys from that group lived next door to me when i was a kid, he was a right twat
  9. hey DAYO ive been racking my brain and thats the first thing i thought and dismissed it as that has to be 74 right? first played as a c/up [estella dennison] at the mecca....so that would have made it 75 at the casino
  10. i remember reading an interview with pete waterman, he said when kylie was given that song she came back to him and said 'what IS this song,is it some kind of camp gay record'? at this point pete probibly replied come and sit on my lap kylie love and ill explain...a long long time ago when you were a little girl in a county far far away, there was a d.j legend, one morning this packet arrived from his uncle.......
  11. came across a record today that id totally forgotten about its house/dance from the late 80s on ffrr i need your love-june montana which is a remake of the chaumonts record [ive played this 3 times tonight and im starting to like it!], wonder how the hell that came about whats the strangest remake of a northern track you've ever heard.........
  12. cool off detroit executives?
  13. you'd get an easy £400 for this on e.bay lots of twelves selling for money now, i had a boogie tune on e.bay the other day clyde alexander- got to get your love on heavenly star with a sticker over the label name and got £310, this is rarer back in the 80s charm city had a small ad in blackbeat magazine offering the curtis 12" for $6 inclusive of postage, i bought one the postage was $4.44! bargain

shes at home she said in the doc if wigan ever closed i dont know what id do, i dont think id go out any more id just stay at home. theyve been feeding her by drip that runs through the letterbox since 1981 when granada did the wigan 25 doc i think searling put out an appeal for he on the radio along with dave withers i dont think they came foreward. back to TOTP pans people did a lovely number to wade in the water in 1972 you know the one with the chiffon scarves
  15. Ric-tic replied to a post in a topic in All About the SOUL
how did she do that with a camera in front of the t.v? i think the b.b.c now offer to buy this stuff back along with missing episodes of dr who etc if footsie dosnt exist here it could exist elsewhere like australia as TOTP was big there and i think gets re-runs, i actually know a young guy there who collects episodes along with old video recorders etc ill try to talk to him,id love to see this again, the whole country was talking about it the next day!

  19. thanks again geordiejohnson i just ran spybot and there was something there so i zapped it excuse that last dumb question in last post it obviously dosnt matter if windows has remembered passwords as you're being tracked and they are getting everyting that way, i wanna go back to e.bay to bag that my hearts symphony promo i saw the other day for 2 quid but im too scared now
  20. thanks geordie poor billythe boot ,when these scumbags retrieve your passwords is that ONLY if windows has asked if you want them remembered?????
  21. i sold my copy about 5 years ago for £30 and i have always regretted it not so much about the money but because i love it,it was hard to set a price then as i think this record has never been that well known,it is rare it took me 10 years to find that copy, a couple of years later i saw it on martin koppells auction list well battered and a minimum bid of £300 i think, this was an old kieth minshull spin pre-wigan
  22. just recieved an e.bay message 'i have paid for this item when will it be shipped!!!? then theres a link to the item it looks genuine, like a twat i clicked it luckily page not found came up and the link was different, fished around item and supposed buyer markdonne9988 dosnt exist be careful out there thiose streets are mean maybee youve had one already its my first of this type and i get account detail ones daily
  23. Ric-tic replied to a post in a topic in All About the SOUL
yes martin youre right, what i was trying to say was hes not trying to profit on ACTUAL postage, i suppose in a case like this how p****d of you are on a scale of 1-10 really depends on what the record was actually won for [i can never get used to the word 'won' on e.bay, you can win the lottery, but how can you win something if you pay for it] if someone gets the record cheap i suppose its a 2 out of ten but if you pay tops its a 10 out of 10!!
  24. Ric-tic replied to a post in a topic in All About the SOUL
MARTYN you never originally said it was a 12" so $11/12 is normal, im gonna stick up for him i think what hes done is normally lists 7" throws in a couple of twelves clicks sell a similar item and forgets to change the postage, easy done, i buy lots of 12" some charge up to $15 so $12 is fair. i know some may think it stated $6 so it should be honoured.......
  25. ah now im following jack barnes didnt read first post correctly LORRAINE CHANDLER has to be in with a chance
