Wow
In all honesty, there's not much between 'em Mark. They're both excellent Deep Soul 45's. Don just pips it for me though! His entire repertoire is out of this world! (you may know him as the voice on Willie Mitchell's "That Driving Beat") Sean

Wow
Didn't see that Simon. He had 3 Decca 45's - all really good stuff! "I'll Go Crazy" is a Deep Soul collectors Holy Grail. Wasn't really surprised to see it go for that much, because its very indemand and never comes up for sale. Sean

Wow

Mad Lads Acapella "don't Have To Shop Around" 1975
Triffic stuff Bob, Thanks for the heads up! One of my all time faves. Sounds wicked Acapella too. Just a shame the Cops turned up! Love the Dramatics clip too. Had never heard of this movie before. Fabulous stuff. Thanks Sean

Who Discovered What ?
Ha! and too reinforce that point Dave (although we've mentioned it on here before) I used to play Rhonda Davis in the 70's around Rotherham and Sheffield (KGB etc.) having bought it initially for the deep side. I posted the following on here in June 07 on your 'Record Discovery Stories' thread (another great read). 1974/75 I bought the Duke 45 / Purple Promo for a couple of bob and at first only played the Deep side "Long Walk On a Short Pier". Some time later (several months) I played the flip and was wowed by the Ann Sexton soundalike "Can You Remember" which I consequently 'covered it' as and it became a pretty big spin for me locally (76). It was 3-4 years later that I uncovered it and first played it at Rotherham Clifton Hall and then later at Cleethorpes where it became a Monster! And we talked about it on this thread here:- Never, in the history of the UK Soul scene, has one single 45 record been discovered by so different many DJ's! Sean

There's a lovely version of "Way Of The Crowd" by the Tymes on the 'People' LP, incidentally. Sean

Aha... No mate. Not guilty your honour! T'was a Crofty job!- Who Discovered What ?
To be fair, Felix is, and always was, a pretty Soulful artist, Ian. His 2008 album with Steve Cropper was one of the best of last year (IMO). Less said about Barnaby Bye and Benny T. the better though! Back on subject.... who discovered the Professionals "That's Why I Love You".... ...always thought that was Graham Coates? It's what pays from my record addiction. www.TheGreyMatterGroup.com Sean- Who Discovered What ?
I do know he had a Tamiko Jones for a while! Sean- Who Discovered What ?
Crow "Your Autumn Of Tomorrow" Another Daddy G Monster! Sean- Who Discovered What ?
Adlibs "Nothings Worse Than Being Alone" too Ian, around the same time.... VanMcCoyTastic! Sean PS: I have something for you too- Who Discovered What ?
Bileo I got from the Label owner (he sent me a few of them) along with copies of Bill Williams "Things Will Be Better Tomorrow". Think Sam had the Bileo covered as The Fantastic Puzzles, when someone :g:told me the true origin/title. Immediately sent a letter to MTU Watts City... ...if only we'd all had email back then! Sean- Who Discovered What ?
Hi Steve, Well recall the third copy of Jan Jones that came to the UK (think only Ian Clarke & Sam had it at the time) Arrived in a box from Toronto, while I was at Alan Seniors one saturday afternoon. Never realised the first ones came from Dave. Yep - Luckey Davis was a Cleggy monster mate. We all had it (again, most prob from Dave). Oh... and I have a nice shiny record for you... Always thought Dave Godin brought Sandi Sheldon up north! Sean - Who Discovered What ?
