Not sure Rick, but it may be about money and resources as everything is nowadays, I just hope that they do threaten the online marketplaces with hefty fines, after all these sites don't allow designer fakes such as clothes handbags and shoes, so why not bootleg records I know that Discogs is heavily attempting to block them from sale (they haven't got it covered yet completely)

Good question as there was one on Evilbay and I held off biding as the "re-issue" from 2016 had same labels as original I seem to remember (and I am old now) that the label has tiny raised stamp marks, above the title and DV1005 scratched in the run out grooves

Chalky, following on from Mikes comments and correcting me above is there a source (Government) of who has actually been prosecuted (other than the 2 mentioned on the programme and in the papers)

It is so strange that Simon Soussan is the only name mentioned and he was bootlegging when......30+ years ago, perhaps these people will be named in 30 years when we have all gone to bed

As for the bootlegs Northern Soul and the "worthless" comments, there are some bootleg collectors who don't mind , do they ? I found recently a copy of the Black Magic LP in a charity shop and inside was a Selectadisc (Nottingham) Catalogue which I believe is from 1975 Here is the cover of the LP and front and first page of the Catalogue (sorry about the stain it wasn't me !!!) What I love most is (apart from the prices) is the fact that there was no mention of labels at all !!!! Will post more pages if people are interested 😀

I guess you mean that items are custom value more expensive and that often means you pay tax at the door when the postman knocks Good point to raise as US is getting more keen to collect from both sellers and buyers It's just another bunch of "intelligent" folks sitting and thrashing out ideas in an office somewhere, as to how they can chip away and away at raising more tax for the rich, where is Robin Hood when you need him most Just one point to mention and it has been raised before I think I sold a £200 record and insured it as such, but when it got damaged was told that I would only get it's cost price returned (I think I paid £2 in 1979) so the question has to be (and of course I am not advising tax evasion) why bother filling in the retail amount on a customs form when that is the case and will reduce the tax paid by the customer (food for thought when you buy a record and talk to the seller) It's a little unfair that the tax authorities and insurance companies for shipping companies don't match

I had this conversation with Rob Smith, who bought my UK copy as he had melted his copy under a light at a venue !!! and all the Jocks I knew said it was OK to play the UK Copy anyway

I have searched for similar matrix numbers (supplied by Chalky) and can't find any 😢

Me and my wife were watching Ian Wright in Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here tonight To my surprise and delight he chose a record as his Luxury Item 7" version Good on ya Ian They all had a quick boogie as well !!!!
