Karl Tarleton - Chicago Music
I apologise if this has already been covered, but I can find little about Karl, who seems to have been prolific having been a writer and producer for many acts The Kavettes, Mel And Tim, Bull & The Matadors, Jackie Wilson, Jo Ann Garrett, Chicago Allstars, The Voice Masters, Gene Chandler etc. He had a clear connection to Andrew Williams (Already have his story) and Carl Davis, but there appears to be little info on the Web. He did one single himself (that I know of) I guess there are Chicago experts on here who may know a little or a lot, but I think we need his story, if you can help please

Not too much but....I found this Froebel “Fro” Brigham, namesake of the Fro Brigham Preservation Band, 1981. In the 1950s, Brigham booked the Creole Palace in downtown San Diego. Billie Holiday, Count Basie, and Duke Ellington may have performed paying gigs elsewhere when in town, but afterward they’d show up at the Creole Palace and play with whatever band was booked that night.

Re-issues often knock the price and sometimes it works the other way. Where LP's are concerned, it's more about LP collectors who are often a different type of buyer to DJ's. LP collectors often want the original to "slot" and DJ's may pay big bucks, if there is/are an "Indemand" track/tracks only available on an LP ......supply and demand always works but this LP has 2 markets potentially- Kim Weston - Dave Godin
There have been some great threads before- Kim Weston - Dave Godin
Dave Godin was "in my opinion" one of the most influential people of the last century in music ....well for us anyway, The Godfather of Northern Soul https://www.change.org/p/sheffield-city-council-by-soul-blues-music-lovers-worldwide-public-recognition-for-dave-godin-the-father-of-northern-soul- Blackpool Mecca (Memories Reunion Event in the South)

I don't want to ruin the night but I hope Mr Dimond plays this ‘Don’t You Worry Baby The Best Is Yet To Come’ is a track that was first played at Blackpool Mecca in 1976 following the acquisition of a US promo from fabled Norfolk based Glaswegian record dealer John Anderson (Soul Bowl) by DJ Colin Curtis, and then a release copy via a London based supplier who specialized in importing new American releases to distribute to US Troops in Germany & Europe, specifically black GI’s with a love of Soul and Funk. The Northern Soul sessions at the Mecca were hugely influential, the club revered, along with Manchester’s Twisted Wheel, The Catacombs in Wolverhampton, The Golden Torch in Stoke-On-Trent, and the scene’s most famous venue, Wigan Casino, at the vanguard of the movement.- Blackpool Mecca (Memories Reunion Event in the South)
I think it's great that Blackpool has now become a major player in the "North / South" divide......well done guys- Johnny & The Brothers Of Soul......Who are they ?
Emailed him yesterday mate- Sheppard Boy - Who is this artist please ?
Sorry I didn't make myself clear... Jesse Thomas is writer of Angle Baby Gold (International hits) and Red (JTP)......but Jesse And The James Boys is quoted as "Music by" on the other red label (International Hits)- Sheppard Boy - Who is this artist please ?
I get that, but just wondered if they were doing the music (and I do know the group is Philly related and not Detroit) and it's coincidence that Jesse Thomas's name is there as well, the more we can rule out the more we can get to the bottom of it- Sheppard Boy - Who is this artist please ?
