  1. New Chicago Sound Renee Ultra-Class Zachron Zot As we've got Blue Rock/Mercury I think Smash should be added. ROD
  2. This is a recorded message. I am ignoring this user.
  3. Was that Changing Scene 45 a Detroit thing. Jo-Vee-Jo or similar. Villige is spelt wrong on the list. I know, picky but if a job's worth doing it's worth doing proper as my dad used to say just before he palmed the job, he didn't want to do, off on me. ROD
  4. Are you taking the p***. I've got enough to do making sure you've got too much to do. Argo Bashie Cal-u-met ? Chirrup Daniels Daylight? Despenza Dispo DJO Gamma Green Light Hawk? June Bug? Keanya Karol? Limelight Lujuna Money Town? M-Pac Mellow Nation Number One O-Pex P-S Palos Peaches Scorpio Star Starville Tad Tam-Boo Tec? Thomas Yan-G If Galaxy is Roger Collins etc label that's West Coast isn't it. ROD
  5. I think that Geoff Buckley has got a nerve putting all this onto you!!! Next time I'll take some of the load and will compile the list of those soul labels based in Dewsbury during the 60's. Im sure that will be a big help. ROD
  6. Happened to us all,Paul. I had my appendix out. Im sure that surgeon stitched me up. ROD
  7. Drizabone,NF Porter and Charles Sheffield so that deafness would be more a blessed relief than a disadvantage. ROD

I don't know but are you confusing "Funny feeling" with this title. That was done years ago on a look-alike WDJ. I didn't know "From out of nowhere" had been booted. ROD
  9. I don't know why but I thought GJM was from Buffalo,NY. ROD
  10. Im not sure. Don't have it now but sounds Detroit and I have a vague if maybe erroneous recollection it had a Detroit address. Someone on here can no doubt check. ROD
  11. Bantu is 70's isn't it. What about Combinations on Solid Rock. ROD
  12. I see you're getting bogged down with the 70's/80's stuff!! You may as well put the Brown Bomber on. Is [Norman]Whitfield a Detroit label. I know Rose Royce,Undisputed Truth,Spyder Turner were on there. I'd have said it was a subsid of WB and as such NOT an independent Detroit label. ROD
  13. Wasn't the Happy Cats on O'mack? ROD
  14. From a Northern perspective bobbins. That was the female 45 I mentioned. ROD
  15. Thanks Boba, that's answered my question. It wasn't much cop IMO. ROD
  16. I think there may be more than one Astra. I got Aqua-Nites for a mate who collects Detroit early stuff and I think another title by a female. Yellow label. No Northern things I would imagine as a bit early for us. ROD
  17. It's 3 months later. Did it take off? ROD
  18. Think that may be a re-issue. Was it "Whip it..." came out here on Ember [blue]in 60's. ROD
  19. DJ copy doesn't have any info about Atco. Only a ZTSC stamped number and an "Empire" production. ROD
  20. Isn't Gary Dean on YOUNG a Detroit 45? Keep Big Wheel and dump the garage labels as I know Mel was only interested in the soul/northern aspect. Be a bit of a mish-mash otherwise. Taurus & Leo[Velvet Sound] don't sound 70's to me ROD
  21. As it's Mel's thread was he wanting Detroit labels with soul/Northern releases only. I don't think Hideout has any,nor Fenton and A squared. Otherwise you're gonna be missing a lot of labels unless someone into 60's garage contributes. RPR is West Coast address although did distribute "Like my baby",Dynamo subsid of Musicor with only Wylie Hester connection from Stanley Mitchell/Platters. Anyway sure you know that. Don't think Garrison is Detroit either. Subsid of Wand and checking matrix of Honeybees against Clarence Reid they are very similar Honeybees 50642 [sratched] and a M or W or squiggle [hard to make out] Clarence Reid 50589 and as above. ROD
  22. What about JABER [Jackey B,+ the woman thingy version] and DARCHA [Camarros] ROD And isn't that Fab Impacts on ITS A BOMB Detroit
  23. Shoudn't the US copy be on Soul. SS[three digit #] Is it a Motown re-issue from, was it,80's? Keep the UK copy anyway. ROD
  24. This probably doesn't help but back in '79 I came across thousands of Music Merchant 45s in an abandoned factory in Detroit. Bit odd if they were pressed/originated on West Coast. I kinda thought that HDH based label there to utilise local talent when Motown moved out. Where's ME-O from then. Tootsie R's sounds Detroit-ish and Martineques are from there I think. May be Ohio though I guess. Matrix is M1002A with "H" opposite on Martineques so that's some guide for someone with more knowledge of pressing plants etc. ROD
  25. Steve have a listen to this on computer instead. Beach station https://player.warpradio.com/player.asp?m=n...&streamRate= Mindless toe-tapping and ideal for background music. ROD
