excellent taste 2 of my fav lps curtis shone beyond belief on that lp some say his best momment !! BAZ A Since it's in Look At Your Box? I'd think so. If not, off to freebasing... Gil Scott-Heron - Pieces Of A Man: I don't think any written words can do real justice to this masterpiece. Conscious, sweet, hard, deep; all in the right amount. Great piano parts, melodic flute lines, heavy heavy bass and Gil's voice makes this the perfect album. Curtis Mayfield - Curtis: Another perfect album. So sweet it's hard not to melt when you're listening to it. Just listen to Miss Black America and you'll know what I'm talking about. We The People Who Are Darker Than Blue is one of the best black power songs ever written: "But there's the joker in the street loving one brother / and killing the other /when the time comes and we are really free / there'll be no brothers left, you see".

yep summer would be perfect -plenty of time to whip some interest up this side of the pond !! BAZ A Sometime in the summer would be a better time for a show like this.... the weather would be more pleasing, to say the least.... it's 5 degrees Fahrenheit right now, not very pleasing at all.

The record is like numerous others from that state -that could break through and obviously have northern soul appeal ,personnally dont like it at all -but im about 640 degrees away from northern soul these days so what do I know -one thing for sure -only my view and not based on whos bought it each to their own definetly as its a large melting pot -reminds me of that west coast tornados track that got through which I also thought was "not very good" loads of dance appeal -question marks over real soul content !! hello, Please let us know about this well in advance and ill try and get some fans to fly over to new york to support this,wanted to do the 23rd show but business committments etc but good notice would ensure some britis could perhaps come over-certainly know a few people who would possibly make the trip with me. BAZ A After a discussion with Melvin, we've decided to postpone the Steve Mancha tribute. There are some other folks in town planning a similar event and we want to avoid any potential conflict. I will post any details about the other event as I get them. We are planning to do another show later this year to help raise funds for a tombstone for Clyde.
