  1. Gotcha - Feel like making love to ya
  2. Sue and Koolkat - I think Torquay was the place in the summer in those days. The Compass Club, the Yacht and the Mexican bar ( I remember this place because they had Eddie Kendricks Keep on Trucking and TSOP on the jukebox) I remember a place ,called the Castle I think, where I saw Sweet Sensation and I'm pretty sure the Real Thing too. Four months of drinking Natch cider for breakfast , dinner and tea my stomachs never recovered. Cheers Manus
  3. F Scott Fitzgerald when writing a short story set in Harlem described a well endowed woman dancing to Jazz as " Uptown Downtown jelly on plate" - completely off topic but there you go. Manus
  4. Cheers Alan so there must be 4 versions then if Melissa Manchesters exists. Manus
  5. I hadn't realised there was another version Mike - be interesting to compare if anyone can post it. Cheers Manus
  6. Sounds good Tony - I'm gonna give it a chance anyway and then make up my mind - as long as they don't play Gary Lewis and the Playboys. Cheers Manus
  7. I'd say you finally nailed it then Ian Cheers Manus
  8. Bill Swift lent me the album with the Bottle on so we could get it played at Bloomers Monday Soul nights in Newcastle 74/75. One of those nights were you had take the records in and the resident DJ would play them. But I had a few drinks to many and left it in the taxi on the way home. So if you're ever in Newcastle and the taxi driver tells you he's been listening to Gil Scott Heron for the last 30+ years ask him for Bill's LP back. And Urzula Dudziak must have been one of the strangest records played at the Mecca- but I quite liked it Polish American jazz scat. Cheers Manus
  9. See you up at the Swallow later in the year Billy Cheers Manus

  11. Great Show Shaun - really liked that Tina Diamond track. Cheers Manus
  12. I can 't picture Mick but the name seems familiar. They were very heady days and great times Jill but pretty hard on the old brain cells. Cheers Manus
  13. Hello Jill - the two women in the photo are Pam who was from Rowlands Gill and Lynn who was from the Durham area. Cheers Manus
  14. He might have been from Darlo - can't quite remember. In fact I'm quite pleased I remembered everyone's names must be the glucosamine I'm taking for my dodgy knees reactivating the brain cells.
  15. Torquay 1974 I'm on the left and I think the guy on the right was called Jim. The lovely Christine from Stoke is in the middle who I last saw at Wigan Sept/Oct 74. Got quite nostalgic looking for these pictures I knew I had some somewhere. More recent myself and my son 2005 and with my partner Liz and our son and my 50th birthday cake in 2006. All the best Manus
  16. Wigan around 1977 I had a very dodgy wedge haircut 75/76 so it must be after that. I'm on the right and then Pam ,Lynn and Stew. I've been trying for about 3 hours to upload this Cheers Manus
  17. One of the best new CDs I've heard in some time is Dwight Chappell "Southern Roots" well worth buying as there's some great tracks on it. Cheers Manus
