Had some spins during the early to mid 8Ts for sure...I remember buying a copy on the back of it being a "Tape Swappers Fave". I would have thought heading towards three-figures now, rather than £30, on rarity alone?

I swapped emails back in 2003 with Dimitri Villard, one of the co-owners of Jet Set. This is taken from one of his replies: "I was the person who raised the money for Eddie to start Shrine, and in return he helped us with some of our recording sessions, arrangements, etc. We were very good friends. We even recorded a few of his artists such as Jimmy Armstrong and Barbara Long for our label. We started out on our own, then got picked up by Bell Records (Amy-Mala-Bell) for distribution. Jet Set was owned by me, Caspar Davis and Blair Butterworth. Eventually the label folded." He also told me that as far as he was aware the masters had been lost...unless someone can tell us differently?! Here is one from their stable...Bill St.John...not overly Northern, more of a Popcorn tune...catchy lyric I can assure you!

I've been sending parcels out regularly for the last couple of weeks always using EMS courier system. Am pleased to report that all are getting through with no unusual delays...sent some last Sunday and they were on UK doorsteps early Wednesday morning UK time.

I recall Danny Huff finding x300+ copies in New Orleans many moons ago...two different presses with slight label variations too. Tremendous track!

As an aside, every copy I've ever seen over here has an odd deletion hole in the sleeve...nothing unusual about that per se, but, the hole has a little metail circle in it as if punched in...very neat...no idea why they felt the need to re-inforce the hole!

A Casino anthem bootlegged as the 'Golden World Strings - Supertime'...remember it...happy days...one to put a smile on your face and get the Soul Police beating down the door! It is actually an LP only track by a band called The Total Eclipse on US Liberty...quite an obscure one and when was the last time you heard it!?! Putting aside his many, many fabulous uptempo tunes, let us also reflect on his awesome Beat Ballads...this is my fave...tremendous! (Bet there are some interesting non-US/UK releases in collections as well..c'mon let's be 'avin' some scans!)

The 'Detroit Rhythm Section - I know Something' (as Andy christened it) is indeed an unissued instrumental taken from master tapes...I had access to them via a diffferent source to Andy, and we both ended up with it. Andy played it at the Notre Dame Scenesville and I played it at the Capitol Soul Club at the Dome...bit of a London anthem, dare I say? Oddly enough I played it at the VaVaVoom NYE doo a few weeks ago, which put a few smiles on faces and feet on the dance floor...probably 6 years since it had been played in the Smoke!? I still have the original Jobete acetate of Sidney Barnes 'Safety Zone'...stunning track. Incidentaly, I first heard it at the Scala Club in London via Dean Anderson...told him there and then to let me know if he ever wanted to move it on...which he eventually did...much to my surprise/delight!

And let us not forget that at least two numbers were pressed twice offering up different takes/mixes!
