if i was a promoter, im afraid id deffo say over 18, the events on the scene are designed for a mature crowd, who should be able to relax , drink and dance etc, my experience is that if by any chance a child gets upset or hurt , the venue owner or promoter is gonna get the blame no matter the circumstances. or someone is gonna over react to a upset son or daughter and get themselves in trouble , or ruin the night for others . and i certainly wouldnt have allowed my kids loose in a room largely full of strangers from all over the country sorry , no way ..........ezzie

hi phil, everytime we have a thread on here about this sort of thing, well,anything really . i notice i always agree with the same folk , ussually committed long time collectors and attendees of the same kind of venues as myself, in spirit anyway.............how many times has someone on here said ."they just dont get it ???? ................an they never will !!!!! ..........ezzie.......

ok....boots and re issues are differant,my mistake to put them together, and yes we should support the people who made the music, and yourselves doing the work over here, ..........my issue is with people playing a rare tune in a spot , not on first issue and pretending it is,....just decieving themselves more than anything................. regards ezzie

got glassed with a beer mug when watching edwin starr in the early 70s in yate, not sure if it was the place that became the nighter venue ..................and was carried on stage to await the ambulance, so everyone had to stand around doing nowt till i was strechered out, while my mates exacted revenge on the culprit.............

btw.................i have seen a mate play out and been heckled from the floor because the crowd didnt know and therefore couldnt dance to the occasional record in his spot .. .. ...and it wasnt r&b .........then the resident / promoter / dj played the same 3 tracks in his spot and the floor was packed..... ............thats what your up against........ez

my experience of the scene was to firstly hear and love sam cooke , drifters ,motown etc..........then records played at the wheel but at local clubs......... there good so lets try this torch place.......wow......more differant stuff.... .......5 years later stopped going. .........25years later ,,,,,,,,,,...........wow again....its changed . ...differant stuff....!!!.......where can i get to go and hear something differant every week....???..........been trying to do that ever since.................... the .top 500,??? ,we should all have our own individual one , and it should change every week, , it does for the more progressive amongst us................ ........ezzie........

hi ,...thanks for the reply, ....my only interest is in tryin to find somewhere to go on a weekend that i enjoy and has enough attendees to make it enjoyable and viable ..the explosion in venues, along with other well documented factors has diluted attendances ....i have asked questions about the new burnley venture also......, regards ,ezzie
