Agree with you here Stuart - Expecting artists like TC to belt out his northern 'hits' is missing the mark completely and IMHO bloody typical of some 'northern' soulies at times. I spoke recently with someone re. the Willie Tee Cleethorpes gig and besides obviously enjoying the set immensely felt let down by some of the crowd around him turning off and chatting whilst the 'non' northern material was being performed. Ignorant and rude. These people are/were hard working artists and performers NOT a Northern Soul jukebox. Rich
  2. Moerer has a Minter for $100 - Think you should get one around £35/£40? Rich
  3. PM'd ya. Rich

Off the top of my head - 45 & LP versions are different. The LP version being a little more mellow (I think). Tough to find these days are Tel's 45s. To answer Black Golds Q: Personally can't beat TC's LPs for sheer quality soulfulness and that something different he brings to the soul table. Amazing talent and brilliant live. Rich
  5. Usually fetches around £20 on ebay Mik. Best Rich
  6. Fantastic logo - The already mentioned 'Be Concerned' is just sublime - Flip it for his excellent version of 'I've Got A Feeling' and yuo've an essential double sider IMO. Also love Shawne Jacksons excellent slowie 'He May Be Your Man'. Rich
  7. Can we the Yorkshires In there????
  8. Don't think its one that comes along often John. Last one on Popsike was $300 3 years ago. I know thats not much help tho. Regards Rich
  9. Al Christian CHANT 45 Now if I wasn't broke by moving house I'd have (and I suggest someone does) snapped this up. What a 45 from a truly great label. I reckon thats a bloody good price too. Best Rich
  10. Cheers for that Bob (As Ever!) - I take it Edee was a local lass then? Always amazes me when an artist makes ONE good record. BTW - the ICA label is a good one to collect if anyones interested.. Cheers Rich
  11. Love this record!!! Came out twice: One on ICA also (local release?) Chi-Heat (Credited as Edee Leatherwood). did she do anything else? Rich
  12. Lovely clean EX (Very Slight Crease On Label) (Probably some folks M-) US Copy. Kudu Sleeve. £25 Inc 1st Class P&P. Her second best 45 in my book - Classic Soul/Funk 45. Paypal Preferred. PM if interested. Best regards Rich
  13. Can I have 2? 1. Stafford (Too young) 2. Canal Tavern, Thorne ( Stuck ina stupid 60s only northern blinkered approach) Regrets.. I've had a few... Rich
  14. It's one of those 45s that you see going through ebay at anything between £2 and £25. I bought a couple of copies last year for about £3 each - Stuck one back on ebay a week later and got £18... Where When & who's looking always plays a factor like so many 45s in that £10-£30 bracket. Rich
  15. Thats it Jason - Lay The Cash On the Line. I know what you mean about the voice but there's something about it that makes me like this side. Cheers fella Rich

  17. In the process of moving house and while boxing up the records/playing a few cam across a Ricky Lance (Vance?) 45 on City Lights. West Coast. For the life of me I've had a memory blank on the title but its a part 1 / part 2 jobbie. Personally think its a nice jazzy/mod deep voiced thing. Never seen it or the label before (I'll post scan/clip up later). Anyone know what the hell I'm on about?? Cheers Rich
  18. Axe...Grind...Politics...Northern Soul.... Rich
  19. Another one of theirs to look out for is 'Time' - A cheapie but jeez what a tune. What a group! 'Bright Side' is a bit of a toughie but what a fabulous 45. Best regards Rich
  20. Anyone with a soundclip at all they can post in ref-o-soul? Rich
  21. Thats great Paul. Cheers. Rich
  22. Fascinating stuff from Bob, Paul John and Malayka. The sheer amount of knowledge and the 'soul' family connections never ceases to amaze me. Do you know of other material of Billys then Paul? Unissued? Best regards Rich
  23. Wow thanks everyone - Good to know he's still kickin around. Didn't know he wrote too much check those credits a bit more carefully. Rich
  24. Cheers John - Bit too R&B for me that one but a nice 45 if thats your bag. Just noticed this one at Craig Moerers We Can Come Over With Love b/w ?? on USA - Never seen that one. Rich
  25. Anyone have info on this guy? Still around? Rate the Flash 45 as one of the best cheap double siders around. First release on label? Personally never seen anything else on Flash. The Mellotone 45 - Brilliant Chicago deep/ballad. Not heard the Palos 45 but seems one of those artists with a small yet quality output. Mr Shy b/w Fall On My Knees - Flash 6601 It's My Turn Now b/w The Great Creation Mellotone 1000 I've Got It b/w We've Been In Love Much Too Long Palos 1204 Cheers, Rich
