    151. Luther Ingram - trying to find my love (Koko) £10 26. Brook Benton - soft (Olde World) £5 4. Wales Wallace - somebody I know (BRC) £12 +++++++++ Great List There. For less than £30 - 3 Stunning records - Luther Ingram is probably one of my all time favourites - Stunning SOUL Rich
  2. Another group obscurity that I know nothing about and having never seen the label before - Anyone know? Label from California - Seen a couple of others on the label but not heard them etc. Late 70's?? Natural Resources - California Woman / A Train A Coming - AFFIE Thanks in advance Rich
  3. 2 Fabulous records and still under/around the £20 mark! And would certainly fit into that older chestnut 'If it was dog-rare, how much?' theory Rich
  4. I'd say anything less than £20 is probably classed as a cheapie thesedays. It used to be a fiver ! But then if you wade through Ebay / Record Fairs / Dealer Boxes at 45s sold or selling at less than a fiver you can on any given day find terrific SOUL 45s. Case in point this week - Percy Sledge Rainbow Road b/w Standing On The Mountain (UK Atlantic Demo) - £2.50 Inc. P&P........ Okay not a 'nighter' sound but then so what? Who's missing out? Hot Box dj's with a couple of hundred tunes or the armchair collector with several thousand soul 45s albeit not crammed full of 'big tickets'. Personal choice of course but I think if you let price/rarity dictate what you collect and/or play your missing out. Big time. Regards Rich
  5. Only Elektras I know is the group on De-Lite. JM has one of these at £20. Rich
  6. Good price that I reckon - You dont see em that often any more. Rich
  7. Morning All After the demise of Grapevine - Came across the below: https://www.garryjcape.com/soulscapealbums.htm 2 Very Worthy Artist Comps From Two Of The Finest! Think its worth the support in these digital days! Best Rich
  8. OK so we've had: Clifton Yate Canal Tavern 100 Club ( 80s/90s Club Biggies?) Dome - CSC Any more? Tracklistings? Ideas? Not really aiming this thread about particular Dj's CDs........ Rich
  9. Good one Chalky - Been a young 'un it's a venue I never went to yet you see that mentioned more than enough to warrant some respectful overview. Potential tracks? Rich
  10. Not sure if this has been done before but if it hasn't..... There's been plenty of Wigan/Torch/ compilations - Think Goldmine did a Stafford Story. Classic 45s that defined an era/venue or turning point in the UK Soul Scenes exisitence. Got me thinking what hadn't been done or should be done? You could right back to the Twisted Wheel /Flamingo/6T's clubs right up to present day. I know on some sales would be minimal but here's a couple to start off with. Canal Tavern Thorne . - Surely a contender? 100 Club - Same as above. (Unless I'm mistaken surely Ady could be allowed to blow his trumpet on this one?) Any ideas on more? Potential Track Listing? Do some need re-looking at/ re-evaluating? Regards Rich

Be interested how much a copy of George Pepp would go for these days - Haven't seen one for a while. Rich
  12. https://www.sirshambling.com/artists/T/thomas_bailey.htm Try here for a clip of this incredible 45 - Personally think thats a great price. Mines a fair old battered one but a priceless piece of deep soul. Rich
  13. Great artist and wholly agree with all the material mentioned. I think the 'Just Me N You' LP got a re-press / re-issue on vinyl/CD earlier this year? Rich
  14. Many thanks for that Bob - Your right, 2 nice 45's and ones that always intrigued me over the years. The box they came in was chocka full of group stuff - No northern - No funk - Just group soul. Them were the days... Many thanks for the info Rich
  15. Ah yes - Forgot about that. Cheers Pete. Mods - Delete If Neccessary.
  16. Just struck me as an odd one this... Always thought this was on Soul and that there were no E.V.D releases on Tamla - So I assume a boot? if so an odd one to boot on the wrong label. Has same cat # as the SOUL release. https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...A:IT&ih=020 Rich
  17. Works a treat And a damn fine 45 - Every home should have one. Rich
  18. Wasters is a top 45 - Completely unknown to me till you 'spot' a side on a well known known label you think 'Hmm' could be a good 'un. Seems to be some great stuff here - Right across the board. Make a cracking compilation and there MUST be some unreleased material? An unsung label I reckon. I'm guessing then UNI bought in all the Chicago/Detroit productions? Are demos all multi-colouored -Dont think I've seen a white one? Thanks to all for input. Rich
  19. Morning! Busying myself through the 'filing' at the weekend - Came across 2 45s I bought eons ago at a local booter (In fact came in a box as my best ever boot haul...) - 2 nice sweet/group sides Fabulistics - Nothing But Determination b/w Oooh this Is Love (Great Potential) Day-Tons - I've Got To Tell You About It b/w Part 2 (Day-Tons) - NICE!- I've seen other discs by the (Same?) Day-Tons - Know Nothing About The Fabulistics - Can post some scans up tonight if anyone interested. Be interested to know anything else about the groups/labels Best Rich
  20. Nice one Sebastian - The point of threads like these IMO. Never heard that - Nice 45.Noticed the T.Tucker writing credit - Tommy Tucker? Sounds reasonably similar but hell who knows! Rich

Now THAT William Bell track is the business - Superb and IMHO his very best! Rich
  22. ++++ Agree on the Darrow Fletchers - His Revue/Uni/Crossover period - At his best IMHO. C'mon folks must be some more out there! Rich
  23. Also - their 'Never Gonna Leave You' does it for me - Starts slow and nicely builds. Rich
  24. Afternoon All, One of those quirks of collecting - In the space of a few weeks you pick up a few 45s on the same label. UNI was one for me recently.Picked up- Ural Thomas - Pain Is The Name Of Your Game Wasters - Accept My Love Jackie Lee - You Were Searching For A Love (Which Is Brilliant) And a couple of Green Berets 45s (titles which escape me at the moment) Got me thinking esp. with the Green Berets & Wasters 54 (Which I'd not known) what a fantastic label - Garland Green / Jackie Lee / Mirettes / Betty Everett / Bob & Earl / Blue Notes etc etc. Detroit / Chicago / West Coast Productions - Classic Northern to Deep / Ballads / Funk - the lot! Never seen a full discography (I guess its huge - With a lot of big name pop/rock atrists) - And to my knowledge never seen any form of compilation (Tony R? Ady? -Any idea who owns the rights?) - Who's got a faves? Tips? Apologies if done before! Rich
  25. Updated - Any more before the 'bay?? Thanks to all who bought. Rich
