Thanks for that. I wonder if he was aware that is 45s are still loved and collected by Soul fans I’m sure he must of because of the Kent CD release of I’m so thankful which was released before he passed I still can’t understand why he only made three 45s at the time. His singing voice is lovely, such a shame he didn’t release anything else Perhaps we will never know why He left us with 4 special and amazing 45s IMO Good enough eh

Might as well post his singles in the unlikely event that someone doesn't know them- Eddie Hill
Thanks Chalky , that’s cleared this up for me I didn’t realise his name wasn’t Eddie Hill but is Eddie Armstead That sorts of explains that 😂 love the video of the Thelma 45 b side obviously the a side at the time 😂 Shame he didn’t record more records I first heard nothing sweeter on that Detroit Goldmine lp that came out early 90s, mark bicknell gave me a tape around same time with you really got the best of me on it, loved those 2 ever since So recently picked up I can hear you crying just so I have all his 45s , but that’s a great overlooked record as-well IMO The M-S 45 and the Gee Gee 45 must have sold ok ish for him as you still see them for sale in beat up condition Thanks again Chalky- Eddie Hill
I have 4 singles by Eddie Hill, you got the best of me on Thelma, Nothing Sweeter than you babe on M-S I can hear you crying on Gee Gee and I’m so thankful on Kent Select imo all magnificent records my question is, does anyone know who he was and any history about him? I can’t find anything online about Eddie Hill - Nothing whatsoever Such a great voice , and seemingly only 4 released (three in the 60s) How did Ady C find the track he released on Kent, any background story about this release? Im just interested if anyone knows anything about him as at the min he is a total mystery when searching online. Thanks in advance- Auctions feedback…Ughh

Will you concentrate on Pat Brady’s auction results then 😂 I would love to see them every week as well as Mr Manships 👍👍👍👍- Auctions feedback…Ughh
I’m not understanding you😂 if you are into collecting records it’s only natural you are going to be interested in what is happening with all things music Including auction results Same with car tans discussion forums People with interest discussing all aspects , especially values achieved at auction fans talking about their hobbies what’s the issue ?- Auctions feedback…Ughh
Everyone who is interested in records love to talk records weather in the pub or online what’s the issue?- Ric Tic info
This is a great tribute to him I found on you tube from all the industry people , it’s a trailer for a film about Freddie Gorman Did it ever get released,? I haven’t seen it- Ric Tic info
And then by a twist of fate he ended up back at Motown when Berry Gordy bought ric tic he then joined The Originals He along with the rest of The Originals were the go to for backing vocals at Motown, apparently on many big Motown hits later half of 60s And of course the classic “suspicion” NS classic He also co wrote “please mr postman” for the Marvellettes Quite amazing considering he is probably not a famous name generally- Ric Tic info
Except Ric Tic did not discover Freddie Gorman He was active from the mid 50s. He was writing at Motown and released a 45 in his own name with Motown early 60s The day will come / just for you on Miracle Granted, he achieved more success at Golden World, Notably co writing Just like Romeo and Juliet for The Reflections which sold millions.- John Manship Auction results 5th January 2025.
The last one he auctioned (an issue if I remember) went for around the same I don’t think people realise how rare it is on uk , or its been forgotten as a dj play I wouldn’t sell my copy anyway cause it’s fabulous- John Manship Auction results 5th January 2025.
Would probably be an expensive uk 45 if it had been played loads and took off not many us copy’s on Popsike either Classic Motown style Northern that !! I love the way John Manship lists the interesting overlooked and underplayed on his auctions, not just the established biggies- John Manship Auction results 5th January 2025.
I like the Kim Weston on MGM I had never heard that before really grows and builds , love it I see it’s written by Willie Hutch not really that many copy’s gone though e bay on Popsike either. I take it that it has never had much DJ action Another overlooked gem ?- Gospel Tracks on the up ...
Not forgetting Bessie Griffins liberty lp which has a couple of outstanding tunes on it , including two little fishes which is a lovely jazzy R&B mover also available on a French ep but get the LP as it has another track on it which is just as good- Gospel Tracks on the up ...

😂😂😂😂 Drummonds , went there myself yes there was a period of “smart dress only” door policy in the 80s on the Mod Scene I always put it down to keeping the “casuals’ out of clubs as they were the royal pain of a Mods life in the 80s until everyone went mellow and laid back towards the end of the decade with the on set of ecstasy but that’s another thread 😂- My London soul experience…
You should have gone on a few Mod doos bud. We were worse with each other 😂😂 I have a different memory Mod corner at the 100 club (left of stage as you faced it ) was always a friendly place IMO I had been doing all nighters all over the country by 86 / 87 Bradford , keele, etc etc and was more of a skin I suppose by early 89 when I started going to 100 club i was a regular at the 100 club and absolutely loved it,. loads of mates from up north and wales used to get down great memories I keep getting asked by my pal Rich to get my arse down again.- My London soul experience…
Chris, Alan, Dave E are all still about and have always been , playing records and doing events I left London in the late 90s and moved back to Wales to be a record collecting hermit , which is what suits me.- My London soul experience…
I used to go to Kings Cross on a Sunday played records there a few times , I’m on this attached flyer on march 28th I imagine this was 1991 or 1992 great memories Chris is a nice bloke , so is Alan H , in fact all that crowd were great it was a great end to weekend you deffo should have given the 100 club a few more try’s 😂😂😂- Sugar and the Spices - Issues ?
