Yes there were, just off the top of my head, James Bounty and Sam & Kitty.

There were a whole bunch of look-a-likes done in the 70s only the vinyl gives you an indication of which one is the boot.

Probably the most reliable and intriguing watch I've ever owned is this one. A Competition II, US assembled from some Swiss parts, can't find any history on it or the manufacturer. Rumour says made by either Benrus or Waltham and given by Ford to good customers at races. I'm guessing late 70s or early 80s.

There used to be a time that VG in the US meant almost like EX in the UK, now I find they overgrade and quite a lot too.

I bought a £400 record (Chubby Checker) the bloke posted it signed for and after 2 weeks I asked where it was, he sent me the tracking number and I went into the web tracker and it showed as being delivered. Major panic. Cut a long story short, the postie had signed it, dropped it off at my next door neighbour who was on holiday for 2 weeks. She came round and gave it to me, I made a stink with our post office, they did nothing, same old postie, didn't even say sorry the pillock. Burn 'em that's what I say, good luck.

I used to have a Waltham but I couldn't resist selling it. I do have a couple of modern quartz Sekondas they work well, best quartz I have is a Sector, they are Swiss watches built in the far east. Most nice

You can appeal their decision, I've done in similar circumstances, I did via their on-line chat type function. Good luck.

I know you can get mechanical watches repaired cheaply in India but you do need someone you can trust to do it for you. Someone from our factory who went there for 3 weeks got 2 watches repaired for about £15.00, it only took 2 days.

This is another one that didn't work properly then one day it just did, my current "top end watch" a super Pagol V30.
