  1. Rosemary Bailey , Life in a Postcard , escape to the french Pyrenees , We spent a few years down in Languedoc, and the Pyrenees in the 90s , building in some lovely picturesque places , La Radote & Corneilla-de-Conflent spring to mind , the latter only 22km. from where Rosemary was based , we where in the foothills of Mt. Canigou , spectacular but very dangerous at times weather wise , worth a read .
  2. Give us a clue ? As all the evidence, from the media says he did pay 100k , " Make him an offer , he. can't refuse " I seem to remember was also in the sales pitch ,,,,
  3. Check carefully it may be sooner , I have to renew before May 24 , and I'm only 66 ,,,,
  4. Nope , but the Rib roast has finally been used up , Rib roast on Xmas day , Cold sandwiches with horseradish last night and the grand finally Chinese beef curry etc and the dogs , "Frankie & Koko ", got all the leftovers plus all the winter roast we couldn't manage , not a morsel wasted , and the Kids are now coming for the New Year instead , you should have seen the look on the faces of the dogs when we told them the good news , lol.
  5. If only Berry Gordy and the rest of the " shall we release it or not crew " had said yes , it wouldn't have ever got this far , great tune when first played ,10k copies later bootlegs Eddie Foster c/u ,TM decide to release it in the UK , Clarkie was buying up as many UK demo's available to send to the US , everybody who wanted it had already bought a copy , Another bootleg this time with an instrumental, countless reissues & " Test Pressings " why is this Holy Grail unwanted so soon after the record news breaking price , why would you would put it back on the market so soon , makes you wonder , has somebody found a few more ??? purely speculation of course ,but these days nothing would surprise me ."Pops , We Love You " lol
  6. Very impressive
  7. I don't think the Beeb filmed this one , historical footage used although there is 2 maybe 3 documentaries covering the disco scene on the iPlayer at the moment & I was also surprised at the claim too , but it came from a guy who was very much involved with the Philly scene at the time , don't want to spoil it for those that haven't yet watched it .
  8. It should go to Auction really , one of those starting at 99p , which would probably reveal it's true worth , or demand at this present time .
  9. 1st , Johnny Benavidez and Cold Diamond & Mink , Do What You Wanna Do , Timmion . 2nd ,Thee Sacred Souls , Running Away , Penrose . 3rd , Johnny Benavidez and Cold Diamond & Mink , Slow Down Girl , Penrose . 4th , The Sextones , Love Can't Be Borrowed , Record Kicks . 5th , Latasha Lee , I Don't Want You ,I.M.G. Records . Only shared the one , didn't want to flood the topic , but all 5 brilliant !
  10. Thanks Tim, That has to be the most honest appraisal , description , like or dislike , call it what you like of any record ever, played on planet earth under the banner of Northern Soul , sheer brilliance .
  11. Hi Dax , have pm'd
  12. Mines in the post , cheers Rick for the heads up . Sure this would have gone down a storm at the 6ts & most probably any other 60s dance club , just looked at their Fan club web site and in 2006 they worked with the late great Andre Williams , not to be sniffed at .
  13. All our Xmas plans have been postponed, not for any bad reasons , so just the 2 of us decided we're not going to bother with a Turkey and all the trimmings , gone for a Rib roast with YPs and a winter roast instead, cheese board & yes Xmas pudding creme brulee 1 big one to share , so no bread sauce for us this year
  14. Just for the fun side side of things tasteful , instead of Cranberry sauce with your Turkey as anyone ever tried Winberrey or chuckleberry sauce , both red and very nice , I think they're possibly the same berry that grow wild in places like the moorlands of Shrewsbury , ie The Stiperstones , very nice .
  15. And marmalade, without the brown sauce lol
  16. Once again Soul Source Store deliver the goods even at this time of year, on time , a Merry Xmas & a Happy New Year to Mike & the team
  17. As you may have guessed from my posts on this topic , I'm a bit of a cook and love experimenting with different flavours etc , about 25 yrs ago my wife told me I had to get rid of some of my 2k cookbooks , as our dining room was looking more like a Library than a dining room , but said I was allowed to keep my 100 favourites, and I hid this one in my favourite baking book , a freebie from at the NEC holiday show about 30 yrs ago , open your mind , lol .
  18. Even better if you lightly toast the bread , but either way , delicious, just add black pepper, the bacon's salty enough lol .
  19. Try a bacon butty with marmalade , delicious.
  20. I'm pretty sure our European members here on Source will have the answer .
  21. Hi Rick, As you say great dancer , but possibly very big on the Popcorn scene , hence the European reissue etc .
  22. We here in the midlands ( although I am a Northerner who married a midlander ) have always gone for the Xmas traditional Roast Turkey , with all of the trimmings inc. roast potatoes & parsnips , sprouts , carrots etc , bread sauce the lot , but could I get the kids to eat Xmas pudding never , so then ( I think I created it because at the time 25 yrs ago I'd never come across or scene a recipe for it ) The Xmas pudding creme brulee , now it's a must have and never any leftovers in our house, even the Grandkids love it too.
  23. I totally agree , lots of the big venues djs would break a record on the dance floor , get a copy made Emidisc usually and sell the original for a profit , the dance floor was still full and nobody cared , because most of the attendees where fuelled up and just wanted to dance , and enjoy themselves .
  24. Just watched part 1, didn't expect to hear " The Carstairs, It really Hurts Me Girl " and interesting the fact that the first tune that was classed as the first real disco record was " Harold Melvin & The Blues Notes , The Love I Lost " ,thanks for the heads up Davemac3 , everydays a school day as the saying goes .
  25. Don't think as yet had a mention , flipped it tonight , The Accents , New Girl &
