  1. LITTLE DARLING(I Need You)" MARVIN GAYE - TAMLA MOTOWN TMG 574. £50 plus £3.45 postage to UK address. RARE UK FIRST ISSUE RELEASE AND NUMBER TMG 574. EX CONDITION. Small sticker removal glue on flip side, label is not torn. All- time classic tune💫 I think the demo of this release went for over £900 on a Manship auction recently!
  2. Just answering my own question by playing "Strange Voice" on Youtube. Different song but it is a very good slowie😊. Bet someone could easily get caught out with this and buy the wrong record, especially after a few pints!🤔
  3. Hopefully a sign that record prices are dropping?
  4. Here's a strange one! "Strange Voice" by The Imaginations on Fraternity 1278-45-1006B Is it a misprint of "Strange Neighbourhood"1278-45-F1001-A or a different record? Different release number so could be a different song?!

  6. It seems to me your the one shooting people for having different views! Calling them names like knockers etc, just because they don't want to the scene and records trashed again by the media! These features and shows are always made for people who are not or never have been any part of the Northern Soul scene. Always viewed from the outside looking in!
  7. If the BBC want to be serious and have some representative talk on the Northern Soul scene they should have people like Richard Searling on. People who actually know what they are talking about.
  8. "Tow-A-Way Zone" - Diane Jenkins - Creative Funk. Original USA 45 in mint- condition. £30 plus £3.45 recorded delivery. Sound clip from Johnny Manship youtube clip. Picture below is record for sale. Sound clip has a little background crackle, the copy for sale doesn't and it plays great.
  9. I've Had It - George Smith - Turntable Mint- SOLD. "What Would I Do" - The Superiors - Verve. Mint- £70 plus postage.
  10. Probably to fast for the old dears now🥵!
  11. How can a full description of the Nomads record be done without mentioning that it was a totally massive sound and an exclusive record for Richard Searling at the Wigan Casino allnighters!!? I can still remember standing next to the dj decks enviously watching it go round on the decks, to a frantically packed Casino dance floor!
  12. I have here both variations of this record beside each other. According to the matrix numbers "Spinning Top"was always the A side on both copies. The label details on one of the labels is wrong. The copy with the label saying "Spinning Top" as the A side looks much more authentic. It has the deep red colour and the embossed star in the run out groove like the Jerry Williams If You Ask Me" original. (See first picture on the left) The copy with the label saying Spinning Top is side B has a more Orange colour to it like the later Calla's. The run out groove number on this one still has Spinning Top as the A side. I wonder if it was pressed at two different pressing plants and one got the label details wrong!
  13. I always thought "Spinning Top" was the original A side then "Anyone Who Had A Heart" was later remade as the A side. Maybe WROV started playing "Anyone Who Had A Heart" because it was the same as the Dionne Warwick record they remembered!
  14. Fantastic record, but one of the few RCA Northern records that the white demo is slightly rarer than the black issue!
  15. If there is any justice in the world, it should of been Richard Searling hosting the show!
  16. I enjoyed the show. Some bits more than others. Great backing tracks from the orchestra💫. I just hope that any music business Soft Cell, Bruce Springsteen types, don't get any idea's to cover more tracks after watching this🫤! The proper classic records are precious and I don't want them to be trashed and exploited as per usual. Next thing we know they will be on cat food adverts👎.

Not an original, but a legal reissue. It doesn't have the picture of the two hands shaking on the label. See my previous post:- It was also legally reissued on a Yellow label with Trans Records in a plain block logo, but no handshake design. This did have the drumstick matrix in the runout.

I would expect it to go for a little more than the orange label copies. Maybe £250 to £300. The first issue original is a Yellow label Tans-American and will have the drumsticks type matrix in the run out groove. It will also have the two hands shaking label design. The Yellow label has an earlier telephone number than the Orange label Trans-American originals. It was also legally reissued on a Yellow label with Trans Records in a plain block logo, but no handshake design. This did have the drumstick matrix in the runout. It was also booted on Yellow label but no drumstick matrix in the run out. This boot did have the Trans-American handshake label design.
  19. I have never liked any plagiarism/remakes of any great, precious Northern Soul classics! I say, play the proper records or leave them alone!!

  22. Yes but naturally he writes from his own point of view. His recollections and opinions of a record/venue will not be the same as someone else's.
  23. "So Many Sides Of You" (The Poet L.P.) Bobby Womack Motown L.P. Original Canadian 1982 issue of this great L.P. Conditon is Mint- vinyl. £25 plus £3.85 postage to UK address. The sleeve is excellent with some small x's beside the track listing. This is an original L.P. and not a reproduction. Feauturing the great "So Many Sides Of You" which is a great dance track with lots of Bobby Womack soul! It has featured with some heavy plays on the Northern Soul scene. All my sales are returnable. Buyer pays for return postage.
  24. Can anyone remember, there were lots of those Ila Vanns in Wigan Casino record bar for about £3 each. I bought at least three copies at that time. Although it was only a few years old then! Someone got the Jesse Fisher for a decent price, as it was the white and red label W104A3 issue and is a better clear cut/recording than the multicoloured label copies!
