Hoagy Lands The Next In Line
I don't think anybody is quite sure! This vinyl issue has always been regarded as a bit suspect, because the run out letters and numbers are scratched in but the demo has the numbers and letters machine stamped in ! There is a proper vinyl issue with the numbers and letters machine stamped, like the demo.

Hoagy Lands The Next In Line
Yes a bootleg, that was made for Northern Soul demand in the Wigan Casino era.

Hoagy Lands The Next In Line
Yes and the original vinyl east coast Laurie demo with Advance Release written up the sides of the label. Machine stamped number in run out U4KM 0901-1.

Hoagy Lands The Next In Line
There are various originals and bootlegs. Some are vinyl and some styrene. Your picture shows a styrene variant. For this styrene copy to be original it needs the west coast monarch delta and number. So a triangle then the number 65707 scratched in the run out to be original. The safest way to own an original of this record is the vinyl demo. With advance release written down both sides and machine stamped numbers in the run out.

First Record Request To a NS ,DJ??
ISN'T SHE A PRETTY GIRL - RONNIE McNEIR - DETO. I was a young man at the Blackpool Mecca Highland room. They had just played "SITTING IN MY CLASS" so I decided to ask for the other side, as both sides are great! But the DJ didn't play it, because I don't think he knew it!

Junior McCants.
I think "Try Me For A New Love" is much better in the all-nighter venue, playing loud! That's where it comes into it's own! It has a awesome production and arrangement. Proper monster Northern Soul for the allnighter!

Bobby Hebb Love Love Love Demo - Light static ?
Yes I think the Columbia styrene (ztsc, ztsp etc) is good quality styrene. Also Monarch delta triangle matrix, is good styrene as well!

Junior McCants.
I often thought that "Try Me, For A New Love" Junior McCants was a one of those instant monster records that become's huge on their first play. What must it have felt like to turn up to DJ at an allnighter, with a relatively unknown record like this, and you just knew it was going to be an instant knockout!

Mel Britt and the Mighty RicTics! As you will know, a Richard Searling C/U. A lot of cover up artists sounded better than the real names! Rose Valentine and the Sisters Three. Al Johnson and the Hitmen! Spyder Turner and the Webs. and many more!

70's Tracks - Suggestions Wanted For Tracks In A Similar Style/tempo
Well spotted! Didn't know about that release!

Bringin' Home The Soul - Travelling With Records
Some of these USA record stores have been picked totally clean these days! I have been through hundreds and hundreds of records and found nothing worth buying! UK price guides don't help, as the USA sellers know what to pick out to put on ebay! It was different in 1978 and 1979. Then I was finding lots of goodies! Times have changed!

70's Tracks - Suggestions Wanted For Tracks In A Similar Style/tempo
This is a great quality 70's soul record. Reminds me a little of Douglas and Lonero! It is a pity it's only on LP and not a single 45rpm. The original LP from 1975 is very hard to get now, but it has been reissued on a Look-a-Like L.P. "IF ONLY I COULD PROVE TO YOU"

JMAuction - 03/03/2021 - Results!
Bought my mint issue from the Soul Bowl for £10. In those days it was always sold for "What's The Use In Me Trying". Both sides are lyrically a bit depressing. One side is about giving up on life and the other is about being free from this life. I have never known what all the fuss was about with "Let My Heart and Soul be Free". It's ok, but that's all!

Bobby Hebb Love Love Love Demo - Light static ?
Philips styrene is so easy to wear out if played too much! I only played my copy of "You won't change me" Bobby Hebb once or twice to make sure it ok then put it into the collection. Would only play it on a rare occasion! My demo of "Love,Love,Love" plays well, but I have an issue copy as a play copy. They don't cost much to buy. Same goes for Blue Rock styrene! Really easy to wear out!

R.I.P. James Burke (The Five Stairsteps)
Sorry to hear this. Sad loss indeed. All there Windy C records are great. Also still like "Stay Close To Me" and some of there other Buddah records.

SOS please help !!!
I bought from the Soul Bowl as an original. It feels and looks like 1960's vinyl plastic. Heavy vinyl, but a slightly brittle feel to it. A bit like a vinyl Gordy or Soul label record. It wasn't much money because common oldies were right out of fashion in the early 1980s' when I bought it. Mostly everyone wanted 60's newies or newly discovered semi-knows at that time. (A lot of which later became the classics of today!)

SOS please help !!!
Sorry I can't answer the original post question, but does anybody know the story on the E.J. Chandler release on Sound Of Soul. I remember it first being played in Wigan about the time Pat Brady was djing there 78/79? The record was very expensive in the first few weeks then it dropped down to about £3 and there was lots of copies for sale. Was this record released about that time 1978/79 on the yellow Sound Of Soul, from an old master tape? Or was it a current recording but sounded like a 60's record? Because the EJ Chandler vinyl does is not look/feel 1960's! The red S.o.S Sandy Waddy vinyl does look 60's!

I like Esther Phillips Just Say Goodbye, but £650 is really an amazing high price for it!

Mr M's Wigan Casino Northern Soul Oldies Room 1974–1981 Box Set
That's the sort of playlist I remember for M's. Also add "A Little Bit Hurt" Julian Covey. That used to take the roof off! I do remember "My World Is On Fire" Jimmy Mack being played quite a lot, even though now it maybe wouldn't be associated with M's. Youth and top notch gear was needed for M's !😁

The last record you would sell
"I Never Knew" - Eddie Foster - In. There's also many more as well, close to that, I first heard at Wigan Casino nighters, that would be the last to go!

Top 50...Newly played out in the last 5 years
This is excellent, really like it. Although the backing track reminds me of "Bet you never thought about it" by the Newsounds in places. Great sound but whats the story with it?

Top 50...Newly played out in the last 5 years
"You're Everything" - Joe Vandiver - Jade. Although someone will probably say they used to play it umpteen years ago!!
